Historic Italian brand in the world of professional audio, Montarbo was acquired in 2019 by A.E.B. Industriale but, due to the pandemic, experienced an inevitable impasse. With ISE 2024, the impetus for revival has been launched
The Montarbo brand has always stood out, throughout its notable history, for the quality and solidity of its products, as well as for tireless research into design and efficiency.
The acquisition by A.E.B. Industriale, the company that currently controls the brand, arrived immediately before the infamous pandemic. The real relaunch of the Montarbo brand, therefore, coincides precisely with this year’s ISE, as confirmed by Salvatore Curcio, Montarbo Sales Director, whom we met in Barcelona.
“The company has decided to relaunch the brand in a big way with the creation of a new team, a team that follows both sales and technical and marketing aspects” – began Salvatore. “We also have a series of new products, which diversify Montarbo’s core business, declining it into a channel more dedicated to retail, with larger and more professional products designed for events, simple but high-performance solutions.”
C – Do you launch with respect for your tradition or are there radical changes also in the company philosophy?
SC – ISE 2024 is the first international presence for our brand post coronavirus, the last was ISE 2020, again in Amsterdam. We are here with products that directly connect us to the tradition of the brand but we want to go further in terms of performance, quality and ease of use. We try to make things simple for users. The applications are retail, music retail, and a large part dedicated to the professional sector: touring, live and rental, semi-permanent installations, theaters, etc.
C – How did the fair go? Are you satisfied?
SC – we are very satisfied, the fair went very well. The entire line of products we brought greatly impressed visitors, with particular reference to the new Nettuno series, inspired by the city of Bologna. We try to bring a new spirit, even in communication. Montarbo boasts an important history, based on the concept of Made in Italy, but in our opinion it makes no sense to rely only on this, we want to look beyond. It is not so much the origin of the product that makes it attractive on the market, but rather the inspiration behind it, the R&D within the company.
C – What is your sales model?
SC – The project is starting, and we are also reviewing the sales network. We have a network of distributors, but we are also represented by various people for many European countries, as agents; we have people dedicated to the back office, customer care, etc… And new additions are planned on the marketing side and for repairs and assistance. We have just left, little by little we will find the square. Professionally, it’s a great adventure, a challenge!
