[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The complete systems for announcements on EVAC EN54 and the background music control of the RCF DXT series offer different solutions for any type of environment.

DXT is the abbreviation for voice alarm systems and background music (both pre-recorded and live) signed by RCF. The series consists of three models: DXT 3000, DXT 7000 and DXT 9000, which share basic characteristics. Each system is guided by a specific, particularly compact master unit, suitable for different installation methods, able to adapt to different types of environment and equipped with class D power amplifiers that stand out for their high reliability, a fundamental feature in the systems. EVAC.

Cutting edge EVAC
The DXT 3000 system was recently installed at the Science and Technology Museum in Milan, named after Leonardo da Vinci; the occasion for the expansion of the already installed RCF system was the 500th anniversary of the death of the great artist and engineer. The DXT 3500 master unit was equipped with the new BE3806 microphone bases and with BM3806 button extensions. Furthermore – on the sound diffusion side – for the museum areas of the latest inauguration, the new DP 1420EN loudspeakers were chosen which, thanks to their small size and high sound performance, established themselves as the best choice to guarantee the safety of communications.

In fact, these are unidirectional cylindrical speakers with a pleasant aesthetic, easy to install and suitable for the sound reinforcement of various types of environments, wherever a good quality of sound reproduction associated with high intelligibility and reliability is required. Grid and fixing brackets are made of aluminium, and the grounding screw is also available when required. Finally, the IP66 protection degree opens the double possibility of indoor and outdoor use for this diffuser.

Complete, space-saving solution
Overall, DXT 3000 is a voice alarm system designed for small and medium-sized applications, where certification according to EN 54-16 is required. The system master unit, MX 3500, is particularly compact, suitable for wall installation and customisable in painting, equipped with class D power amplifiers that stand out for their high reliability, a fundamental feature in EVAC systems, and is able to provide up to 500 W of total power. Depending on the model, the system is capable of serving up to six independent zones with, in addition, the function of reserve amplifier.

The internal power supply is EN 54-4 certified and the batteries can be housed inside the cabinet, making the system a complete solution with a small footprint, in particular with a minimum depth. The integrated DSP platform also allows you to optimize the room equalisation, improving the intelligibility of the voice and the pleasantness of the background music, and thus combining – so to speak – the useful with the pleasant.

With DXT 7000 the certification is complete
Compared to the DXT 3000 model, the DXT 7000 audio system, designed to control music and announcements, complies with all the requirements of the EN 54-16 and EN 60849 standards, also offering complete scalability. The centralised unit MU 7100EN is a configurable 8 x 7 matrix with DSP platform on board, dual AC and DC power supply and 8 x 80 W of power. The signal, from the microphone to the speakers, is completely and continuously monitored for any faults, while the system functions are set using the appropriate configuration software (which works with the Windows operating system) and loaded onto the central unit via USB port.

Up to 32 central units can be connected together to serve up to 256 speaker lines and the system can extend control up to 128 zones. The internal memory can store recorded messages (WAV files) that can be reproduced and disseminated by the system, the control of which can take place, for all aspects, settings and functions, through a graphical interface on a PC.

RCF also provides the practical DXT 3000 PLANNER software that allows you to configure small and medium VOICE-ALARM systems in accordance with the regulations (Prescriptive Method), using EN 54-24 speakers and EN 54-16 management electronics of the DXT 3000 series (250W and 500W, 2, 4 and 6 zones, single or networked) and related accessories.

DXT 9000: multi-platform digital system
The latest evolutionary stage of this series of systems signed by RCF is the DXT 9000 version: it is a multi-platform digital system in which PA-EVAC systems combine with professional installation systems, for highly scalable solutions. The system is supplied for large installations and programmed with the advice of the Engineering Support Gro project office up by RCF.

Microphone bases for every need
We gave an overview of the central units that characterise the different system models of the DXT series. Each model, however, is obviously complemented by a wide range of accessories, from amplifiers (where necessary) to loudspeakers, from microphones to push-button panels, to housing cabinets. We cannot go into too much detail for space reasons, but we still want to give an idea of technological evolution in terms of accessories, and to do so we are helped again by the Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Milan where, as already mentioned, the DXT 3000 system has recently been updated.

The new BM 3806 table-top microphone consoles, which can be used both for live announcements and for the activation of pre-recorded messages, are equipped with self-diagnosis and system status reporting functions in compliance with the EN 54-16: 2008 standard. The BE 3806 model, on the other hand, is an additional six-button keypad that allows you to easily make selective calls to all the areas covered by the system: each button has a fixed address to a specific area. Up to eight units can be connected to the same microphone base. Each DXT model has its own set of accessories, in regards to the microphone consoles. For example, for DXT 7000 the models are called BM 7624D (table microphone base) available in different versions, with or without display and with different types of microphone, from handheld to high quality cardioid. For the top of the DXT 9000 range, the BM 9804 console offers three configurable keys and display, with cardioid microphone in a robust metal chassis. What’s interesting is the additional keyboard BE 9808, which offers eight other configurable buttons for selective activation of the zones. Up to eight additional keyboards can be connected to each microphone base (powered from the base).

Finally, on the sound diffusion side, the new DP 1420EN loudspeakers used in the Leonardo da Vinci Museum, which we talked about at the beginning, and which we want to underline the extreme versatility, as there is the possibility of using them as much in indoor and outdoor applications.
