We have often cited AVIXA, the trade association also known for being co-organizer of ISE, in our texts for its market research and insights into industry trends; considering that ours is a relatively young market, in fact, there are not many official and super partes sources of data and research.
The latest one we came across concerns the video conferencing market, with an emphasis on the choice of Wireless technologies for this type of application, among those generating the highest revenues in Integration. In fact, AVIXA estimated that the size of the video conferencing market is expected to grow by 19.7 percent, from $9.2 billion in 2021 to $22.5 billion by 2026. This is just one part of the industry. AVIXA’s research shows that the conferencing and collaboration industry as a whole generated $52.4 billion in 2022 and will grow steadily by 2.8 percent through 2027.

Meeting rooms, also in our experience, are a trend: but to be understood not only as “wireless” but as a “plug and play” mode by which people come to the room and connect their device (and we mean any device with connectivity) with the room’s network, to share, consult, work, etc. in a moment’s notice.
According to AVIXA’s research, the positive aspects of this choice, in spite of the qualms we often hear from the side of IT managers, who are usually always cautious about connectivity choices, lies in many benefits, some understandable on the fly. Speed (of connection and of entering a meeting), portability (it is everyone’s aspiration to be able to consider their laptop as their office, anywhere), and cost (installation and materials–design and testing costs should be evaluated). Not to be forgotten is the (obvious) flexibility and the equally obvious collaboration, i.e., the ability to work and share ideas and not just documents, spontaneously and without constraints or perceived inconvenience (of connection, rumbling, operation, etc.). AVIXA ends by pointing out that the network, just because it is wireless, is not necessarily not secure; true, but equally true that in this case it requires some extra caution.
But further innovations are already looming: by now, thinking about conference rooms equipped with artificial intelligence no longer seems like science fiction to us. Many technologists predict that they will use algorithms to analyze user behavior and provide recommendations and insights to facilitate communication between people. They will also be able to detect users’ emotions and facial expressions to provide a more personalized experience. If this is what Artificial Intelligence is all about, we can’t wait!
