The two home theater projectors JVC DLA-NX9 and DLA-RS3000 cut first the finish line and get the prestigious HDR THX 4K certification
Recently introduced, the two JVC DLA-NX9 and DLA-RS3000 projectors are equipped with JVC’s native D-ILA 4K device and proprietary 8K e-shift technology for 8K image reproduction. In addition, HDR content further enhances image quality, thanks to a longer luminance range, an extended color gamut and a 10-bit gradation.
The two models have thus passed the tests that THX carries out to assess accuracy, clarity and color contrast: the HDR requires a wider range of DCI-P3 colors and the HDR THX 4K certification guarantees that the on-screen display is compliant with this new range, also evaluating the color distortions and the moiré effect with full HD and 4K content.
Finally, JVC projectors are distinguished by the new Auto Tone Mapping function, which automatically adjusts the settings according to the burning information for an optimal HDR10 image. The HDR is now widespread on an ever-wider range of products and the HDR THX 4K certification guarantees consumers that the projector offers the best HDR performance possible.
The THX HDR test series also ensures that in scenes with objects of different sizes, white levels are reproduced that meet the expectations of editors and colorists.
Peter Vasay, Senior Vice President of Technology Operations at THX, has spent important words about these 4K JVC projector models: “We are surprised” – he said – “for detail and precision of the images of JVC’s 4K HDR projectors. Every time we certify a JVC product, we know that we are working with equipment designed to truly follow the artist’s vision.”
