AES (Audio Engineering Society) is preparing to transform Milan into the international capital of audio with its 144th Convention, from 23 to 26 May 2018.
A new, important opportunity for training and networking for the professional sector, as well as a prestigious appointment for the Italian audio community, which comes just a few months after the success of AudioForum 2018 (organized by Connessioni in collaboration with AES at Integrated Systems Europe) and will host distinguished international experts in the Lombard capital.
3D Audio, Sound Reinforcement, Sound for Cinema, Sound for Virtual and Augmented Reality, Multichannel Audio, Recording, Production and Room Acoustics are in fact just some of the convention’s topics that were announced during a preview by the association. “The Power of Sound” the topic of AES Milan 2018, will be well-represented by over 160 sessions on the latest technologies, analyses and audio techniques dedicated to professionals and students. For these last mentioned, a fundamental component at all AES conventions, the Milanese edition will have dedicated training sessions and events such as recording and sound design competitions, mentoring activities, school presentations and possible professional proposals.
Accompanying the technical program prepared by the convention’s co-presidents Alberto Pinto (Professor at CESMA, NUCT University and Stanford University) and Nadja Wallaszkovits (Chief Audio Engineer Phonogrammarchiv, Austrian Academy of Sciences and AES President-Elect), along with an organizing committee with exceptional figures from the global professional and academic world, is the exhibition area. Open from 24 to 26 May, it will feature the latest equipment on the market, demonstrations and educational presentations. There will also be demo rooms and surprising listening experiences to complete the offering of special initiatives and networking opportunities for professionals (and future ones) of the audio world.
