The new, futuristic OLED Transparent displays from LG Electronics have arrived on the Italian market. Developed and launched by the Business Solutions division, these displays look very promising.
LG Electronics OLED Transparent arrives in Italy, to completely renew the world of digital signage and corporate communication. But what is OLED Transparent?
In a nutshell, it’s a highly innovative solution, even revolutionary, in the Information Display area. The self-illuminating OLED technology greatly increases the transparency of the screens, significantly improves the contrast and color rendering in image reproduction, allowing for an unprecedented overlap between reproduced images and real objects.
If the maximum transparency in LCD displays is usually 10%, the OLED Transparent displays by LG are able to offer a degree of transparency that reaches 38%. In the event of a frontal view of the viewer, the objects actually positioned beyond the screen remain perfectly visible, overlapping and integrating with the images and videos that flow on the display. The UV protection of the screen makes this technology also ideal for positioning inside shop windows and showrooms. The wide viewing angle allows viewers to see the contents well from any side.

Limiteless digital signage applications
OLED technology, as we know, is particularly suited to the reproduction of black. Therefore the OLED Transparent by LG exploit black, and not white, as the basis for their transparency. To give an example, in the case of a night urban landscape, with an OLED Transparent the black of the night above the skyline will be transparent, with the additional advantage of making the edge of the screen barely visible.
