Pardon the pun, but today we are pleased to present to you … the wePresent family: a series of products signed by Barco and distributed by Maverick AV Solutions, TechData‘s AV division – to further facilitate what is already a specialty in the home, or sharing content via wireless in BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) logic.
Using their own devices, meeting and training, participants (up to 64 users) can take advantage of the system to share and exchange information and details. In short, all the value of sharing in an agile and proactive family of products.
WePresent: flexibility and added value
One of the most important concepts when it comes to sharing content is flexibility. Companies are increasingly looking for agile, simple to use and performing systems that do not give up the quality of the AV experience but that do not involve the need for excessive training for staff. The new proposal was created precisely to enhance the collaboration experiences and improve the interaction between the participants.
The flexibility is not only declined on the operational level, but also on the environmental one: it is suitable for any space, in particular for classrooms and training rooms, and allows users a presentation without interruptions and a satisfying interactive experience. In addition, all connected users can make presentations in turn: using the conference control functions, moderators select the connected participants from the screen, allowing them to present, for up to four people at a time. This way students feel more involved and discussions become more focused and effective.
Products
WePresent offers three different “heart of the system” models. Let’s start with the basic WiPG-1000 model, which still has all the functions needed to structure a more than reliable sharing for classrooms, open spaces and meeting rooms. WiPG-1000 can be connected to the display via HDMI or VGA for presentations with definition up to 1080p, and offers a dedicated jack input to support secondary audio systems. Its basic features are the ability to share the screen from any device, including AirPlay, and the ease of use (common to all models of the series), which allows users to use any type of personal device without the need to install software. Finally, WiPG-1000 offers a configurable wireless access point, with an enterprise security level based on SALSA20 encryption, gatekeeper settings and customised IP control settings. The integrated USB ports allow you to connect a Bluetooth mouse allowing the use of on-screen conference controls. For environments with touchscreen displays, WiPG-1000 also offers support for this type of control.
The “in between” model is called WiPG-1600W which, like all the other wePresent models, offers full compatibility between various platforms, allowing Windows, Mac OS, Android and iOS devices to present and interact with each other. WiPG-1600W also offers support for Apple AirPlay. Further implementations include the virtual interactive whiteboard, which allows you to highlight the highlights of presentations and develop new ideas. Furthermore, a fundamental feature is the great variety of connections. The integrated USB port allows you to present documents, multimedia and video content without the aid of any PC, Mac or mobile device: a USB key is sufficient. The WebSlides function that can be activated is also very interesting, which allows all connected users to view the content projected on the display in real time on their device, as well as any notes added on the screen. Ideal solution for meetings or teaching sessions with many participants, WiPG-1600W represents, for its interactive capabilities, a decisive step forward in the collaboration experience.
We conclude with wePresent WiCS-2100, a wireless solution that, thanks to a faster processor, offers even more developed BYOD compatibility, with both wireless and wired LAN functionality. The “top of the range” integrates effectively with ChromeCast and AirPlay devices, while the dynamic screen layout speeds up the collaboration experience. In addition, an on-screen user preview for up to 32 connected users allows the moderator, in a particularly large environment, to better control the meeting and, if necessary, to block other users from viewing the presentation. Designed for premium applications (boards of directors, large university classrooms, etc.), WiCS-2100 is the most valuable member of the wePresent family, all geared towards developing, improving and simplifying collaboration techniques.
Education according to wePresent
WePresent’s Education package deserves a mention, it is designed to monitor a student’s activity or presentation before it is sent to the main display. Basically, teachers can preview a thumbnail of a student’s device on their computer. The function is designed to allow teachers to focus on the content aspects of the lessons and on the actual teaching, without technical concerns.
