At the ITC Solutions Day of Allnet Italia we spoke with Ilario Tricarico, Senior Manager Sales Italy of Poly, and a very interesting description of the company and the technological innovations after the acquisition by HP emerged
Hewlett-Packard is a name that cannot leave you indifferent, as well as the abbreviation HP: it is one of the largest companies in the world for the production and sale of PCs, printers and technology for offices and work. The union between a similar brand and Poly, a company specializing in video and voice solutions, has brought benefits on both sides, according to Ilario Tricarico: “Since November 2022, the acquisition has become effective” – he told us at the last ITC Solutions Day organized by Allnet Italia. “We carry on Poly’s strategy by completing HP’s offer for the workstation, also and above all in a hybrid key (remote work, mobility, etc.). We are very happy with the acquisition, thanks to which the perspective has changed: we, as a company, lacked a bit of scalability, we have always been very oriented towards B2B, but our size prevented us from making certain investments. With HP the firepower has changed completely. HP, for its part, has acquired our experience and our ability to design and propose the digital transformation of the workplace. HP therefore maintains the computer and printing business, but is also looking at our market with great interest. Large customers are very happy to have a single interlocutor who follows them.”
Therefore, a “two-way” acquisition, in which not only the influence of the larger on the smaller was felt, but also the opposite one, of the small on the large.
“Exactly” – confirms Ilario Tricarico – “which demonstrates that HP has absolutely not exerted forced changes on us. Simply, HP has decided to invest, in Italy and beyond, in the concept of digital and hybrid reformulation of offices and workspaces, and has found in us an already tested structure.”
So, before saying goodbye to Ilario, let’s also take a look at the main novelty brought by HP/Poly to the Allnet event: Voyager Free 60, “the answer to Apple in a B2B, non-consumer key”, in the words of Ilario Tricarico. These are wireless earphones designed both for work and for leisure, suitable for both video calls and listening to music. “The display” – explains Ilario – “allows you to control the headset, both the volume and various other settings. The active noise cancellation function is very important, which is activated based on the noise of the context in which you are. These earphones can be used for a business call but also to comfortably listen to the audio of a film on the plane, having their salient features in Bluetooth connectivity and productivity in all circumstances.”
