At Prolight + Sound 2023-Frankfurt April 25-28-among the many events are the EVVC Green Sessions, to boost a greener events industry, as well as the Future Hub and Future Talents Day, with many proposals for today’s and tomorrow’s professionals
One thing is certain: events that are sustainable in terms of energy and environmental pollution must become the standard. But it is one thing to make a statement, quite another to implement a program. How exactly can this goal be achieved? Where does the industry stand? What has already been successfully implemented, and what is still not working properly? Finally: how should the live events industry position itself in the future? These and other questions will be addressed and discussed by industry experts during the “Green Sessions” at Prolight + Sound, Hall 11.0, April 25-28, 2023. The program is organized by the European Association of Event Centers (EVVC).
A Green Sessions keynote will be given by Austrian anthropologist Bettina Ludwig on April 25 at 12 noon, while lectures and panels with representatives from venues, manufacturers, institutions, as well as agencies and innovative start-ups will follow throughout the four days of the fair, addressing topics such as social sustainability, environmentally friendly tour management and sustainability communication.
Future Hub and Future Talents Day: offers for young professionals
Also in Hall 11.0, in addition to green solutions will be hosted the Future Hub, which brings together specialized offerings for the professionals of today and tomorrow. Indeed, recruiting young talent is another key theme of Prolight + Sound 2023. For this, part of the area will be occupied by a Career Center where companies will present job offers, as well as a Campus where educational institutions will provide information on career scenarios. Accompanying this, a Start-up Area will provide a showroom for new and creative companies. The entire area, ça va sans dire, is built using recyclable materials and is powered by 100 percent green electricity.
Finally, again with an eye on the future, Future Talents Day will return to Prolight + Sound, dedicated specifically to students with a varied program: from Behind the Scenes tours to Talents Rally and networking events with industry peers and potential employers. Partners in the implementation of the Future Hub and Future Talents Day are the European Association of Event Centers (EVVC) and the Association for Media and Event Technology (VPLT). Participation in the Green Sessions is free for all visitors with a valid ticket.
