Sony has made a very rich and proactive ISE, with several news in video projection, some important confirmations and upgrades.
The “wow effect” in the Sony booth was guaranteed by the Crystal LED installation, a micro LED display specifically designed for high-level digital signage, in areas such as high fashion and retail stores, e-sports and cinema applications, but also industrial and automotive design.
To facilitate the use of Crystal LED in these areas, Sony has introduced a new controller, ZRCT-200, with HDMI and Display Port interfaces that support HDR images (SMPTE ST 2084 and S-Log3). Also interesting is the new color management solution, able to reproduce the same color among the high quality displays, including Sony OLED monitor range and Crystal LED systems. Maxime Lemoine, Segment & Trade Marketing Manager at Sony Europe, gives us the confirmation: “It’s not the first time that we present our micro LED products, but it is still unmatched technology. Undoubtedly, it has attracted many visitors, but also great interest was also collected by TEOS Manage, our solution for room management, implemented with TEOS Book, a meeting & conference application for booking and scheduling.”
And if on the security side, the Sony stand has not reserved news, not so much can be said of the video projection, with five new installation models, in a range of brightness ranging from 4.200 lumens of VPL-FHZ58 to 12.000 lumens of VPL-FHZ120L, passing through the 5.100 of the VPL-FHZ61, the 6.100 of the VPL-FHZ66 and the 9.000 of the VPL-FHZ90L. All models have WUXGA resolution and are based on 3LCD technology, with new panels for even brighter color rendering. In particular, the VPL-FHZ120L is a very interesting solution for auditoriums, conference rooms and museum applications.
Continuing the examination of the vast stand, we meet the “Active Learning” according to Sony, Vision Exchange, educational solution for both teachers and students, for easy organization in work groups, as in the words of Maxime Lemoine: “The Vision Exchange philosophy is to improve the interactivity of the lessons and the sharing of the contents. In fact, this is a valid solution for both educational and corporate, both for universities and high schools as well as for large and medium-sized companies.”
The novelty is the integration in the Vision Exchange of the Skype for Business platform, for an even more effective workflow. Finally, Sonic Surf VR is also worth mentioning, a technology based on a software able to transmit the psychoacoustic perception of space, movement and directivity of sound and on a multi-channel system of loudspeakers: devices that increase the involvement of the viewer in museums or exhibitions, even interactive.
