Reviews Multimediali

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The recently announced distribution of the Xilica brand marks Intermark Sistemi’s decisive investment in the collaboration world, with a catalogue of products that combine quality and design, in search of the perfect “user-experience” in any sector.

Xilica products for conference rooms will be distributed in Italy by Intermark Sistemi, based on an agreement recently reached between the two companies. A webinar is scheduled (Thursday 27 January from 11.00 to 12.00) for the official presentation of the new brand, which will become part of the Intermark portfolio with its innovative and refined audio solutions for collaboration and videoconferencing, of which, in this article, we’ll try to provide you with an introductory description.

Touch control: a touch of elegance

The first feature that will catch your eye when scrolling through the list of Xilica proposals is the variety. Declined for all the needs of modern meeting rooms, ranging from endpoints to touchscreen controllers, from modular audio processors to amplifiers and speakers. The XTouch 80 touchscreen controller features an 8” capacitive touch panel featuring ColorMatchTM technology and a very elegant design (edge-to-edge glass, with ultra-thin profile). Designed for conference rooms, education venues and legal environments that require a responsive, high-definition control surface, the XTouch 80 is powered via standard Cat cable and can be installed on a floor with the optional StudioXTM designed XT80-TTS stand. or on the wall, horizontally and vertically. This agile display takes advantage of Xilica Designer’s drag-and-drop, code-free programming, eliminating third-party control systems, and is capable of controlling virtually any collaboration device. It features a single RJ45 port on the back that provides both data and PoE power.

Another very interesting proposal is Lucia, an IP-based intelligent controller suitable for any environment: a wall control designed to provide audio, video, lighting controls in school classrooms, multifunctional spaces for corporate and commercial environments. Lucia includes a 1.5″ OLED display and uses, like XTouch 80, a single Cat cable for power and data, which greatly facilitates installation and use.

Endpoint: surface and wall mount

BYOM (Bring Your Own Meeting) flexibility and richness of features: Xilica offers Gio USB, a surface mount USB to Dante endpoint, designed to bridge the gap between the IT world and the AV world, allowing easy connection of laptops to an AV system Network. Gio USB offers driverless compatibility with major software platforms, allowing room audio control over HID. Easy to install, Gio USB can be placed comfortably and very discreetly under a table, behind a screen or next to the room PC, and supports up to 2×2 USB audio with signal transport over a standard Ethernet network.

The Gio XLR model, on the other hand, is a dual band wall endpoint with single cable installation for both power and data, and allows you to connect analogue audio devices on the network, with centralised routing and control. Basically, a versatile bridge between audio and IT. Gio XLR allows multifunctional use of meeting rooms and common areas of corporate buildings by extending the AV-over-IP system with portable analogue products, for example powered microphones and speakers.

Modular audio processors

The Xilica proposal is called Solaro FR1, 1U DSP with 16 card slots with modular I / O functionality capable of managing different rooms in a wired CatX network and adapting to future user requirements. The processor can be equipped with any combination of Solaro series I / O cards, and provides analogue audio, USB (with HID volume / mute support), GPIO, relay control, and AES / EBU digital audio. With the integration of the optional XC-CTODN module for network audio, the Solaro FR1 can manage up to 64×64 bi-directional audio channels over DanteTM, using a standard CatX cable without proprietary switches. Networked to the Solaro FR1, the XTouch touch controls and Lucia wall controls perfectly integrate the solution. Control via iOS / Android is also possible, along with integration with third-party systems such as AMX, Crestron and others.

The Solaro QR1, on the other hand, is a PoE-powered digital signal processor with eight slots for a user-configured I / O card, an ideal solution for small conference rooms, classrooms and legal environments. Like Solaro FR1, it is an open architecture product that can be equipped with all combinations of Solaro series I / O cards, and offers the same functions as the model just illustrated, also connecting via Cat cable X to an integrated 4×4 DanteTM audio network, for easy connection of ceiling microphones and other IP-based audio products. Xilica Solaro QR1 is able to manage all aspects of the room, from lighting to displays, without code and with a minimum set-up time, and is perfect for BYOD-style conferences, thanks above all to the connectivity provided by Gio USB and Gio Bluetooth. Finally, both Solaro models – FR1 and QR1 – offer HearClearTM acoustic echo cancellation to enhance the remote conferencing experience.

Audio infrastructure: amplifiers and speakers

And we conclude with the products more explicitly dedicated to audio, the actual terminals, starting with Sonia C5, 8 Ohm two-way ceiling speaker with 5.25″ low-frequency transducer, which can be connected via Cat cable on standard IT infrastructure. Designed to deliver clear and uniform audio throughout the room, Sonia C5 is easy to install and is based on VoiceMatch technology, which reduces the number of speakers required in large rooms.

The ideal companion for Sonia C5 is the Sonia Amp Class D amplifier, thanks to the combination with which the system can cover up to four rooms. A single Sonia Amp unit can power up to four Sonia C5 speakers. Sonia Amp is an IP PoE + amplifier capable of delivering up to 15W for a single audio channel, 6W for a dual channel and 3W for four 8 Ohm channels, and can send identical or separate audio signals to the Sonia C5 speakers, it mounts directly to the rear of the Sonia C5 unit, and is convection-cooled, therefore fanless. It also has a ceiling microphone input to complete a room’s audio setup. Dante-enabled and AES67 compatible, Sonia Amp is designed to further simplify the work of IT technicians, who can build an entire audio system with a single standard category cable.

Online event on January 27th

To start exploring all this news, we remind you that the event is taking place on Thursday 27 January, from 11.00 to 12.00, as a webinar in which the Intermark Sistemi experts will provide an overview of the entire Xilica product line, with particular focus on Solaro modular DSPs, on the new audio Sonia and on the partner programme XILICA ONE.
