Three new H-class models characterized by different powers, which adapt to many installations: it’s the ZEUS X series by Helvia, a brand of Frenexport, an Italian company that has been operating in the music industry for a long time.
Frenexport is a “talking” name: in the music field, the brand is well known, but also in the world of lighting and live events, the company is able to offer a variety of technological solutions to carry out the projects of musicians and organizers. The novelty on which we want to emphasize is represented by the new series of ZEUS X amplifiers, three models of different power (400, 600 and 800W) equipped with the usual standard protections that characterize medium-high range amplifiers, which however stand out in the contemporary panorama for the original and interesting choice of class H, where the market focuses more decisively on class D amplifiers. Class H is a technological evolution which, on the “common” basis of A/B class, further improves performance of class G in terms of efficiency. In fact, class H amplifiers, instead of switching the Lift between just two voltages, constantly regulate the power supply voltage between minimum and maximum, for greater reliability.
But now let’s talk about the products. The Helvia ZEUS X series is designed for low impedance multi-channel installations and covers a power range from 400W to 800W @ 8Ohm per channel. These are products with 4-channel architecture in 2U Rack, which can also be used in Stereo, Parallel and Bridge (CH1-2/CH3-4) modes. Each channel integrates a cross-over with low-pass filter for use with both full-range systems and subwoofers, without the need for external processors. The protection system includes a signal limiter, delayed ignition, DC Offset recognition, thermal protection and current limitation. The cooling system, on the other hand, is particularly efficient and controls the speed of the fans, also ensuring the reduction of noise to the bare minimum. Another aspect that can make a difference in this series of amplifiers is the quality of the copper used for the transformers, as well as the quality of the capacitors and power transistors. The precision of the filters also significantly improves the performance of the ZEUS X series amplifiers in live applications.
Romano Frenquelli, vice president and director of the Frenexport’s Pro AVL Division, comments on the launch of the new amplifiers: “The main advantage of these amplifiers is the excellent sound quality. The efficiency of modern class D amplifiers, which crowd the market, is increasingly considered important, but we believe that the task of an amplifier, in addition to reliability, is to allow the reproduction of music and speech in high quality, and ZEUS series products do just that. This is why we have relied on technologies that are not new but overtested. We recommend this series of four-channel amplifiers to all those who have to guarantee significant sound performance in their installations.”
