Sony goes completely to 4K to meet market demand for larger screens and with higher resolution
Sony announces the launch of a new line-up of nine BRAVIA 4K HDR Professional Displays. The XE8 and XE9 series are characterized by a slim, simple and elegant design. The new XE9 models are also the first BRAVIA displays to offer uninterrupted 24/7 operation, ideal for retail outlets, airports and surveillance applications. 4K HDR Professional displays combine high brightness and definition, ideal for digital signage. The 4K offers very natural images especially regarding color. The technology that made possible this line-up is the 4K HDR Processor X1 with 4K HDR Object-based HDR Remaster and Super Bit Mapping technologies. All models also feature TRILUMINOS technology, which further enhances color accuracy, for an even brighter and fuller color range.
The displays offers new levels of brightness: the XE9 series models have a brightness of 560-650 cd/m² compared to 400-450 cd/m² of the previous XD8 models. The new BRAVIA B2B models have been specially developed for professional environments. They guarantee all the variety and flexibility needed to meet to meet a wide range of applications and are easy to install and configure. Each function is completely customizable. The XE8 series is available in 75″, 65″, 55″, 49″ and 43″ sizes, while the XE9 series is available in 75″, 65”, 55″ and 49″ sizes.
All displays can be positioned both vertically and horizontally and can be turned into interactive touch screens via an optional Touch Screen frame that offers multi-touch performance.
“With the growing demand for larger screens in retail, corporate and education sectors, the demand for ever higher resolutions has never been so great”, said Thomas Issa, Product Manager for B2B Displays of Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “We wanted to make 4K accessible to our customers to prevent them from compromising on image quality today, and to protect their investments in future technology tomorrow.”
