An ISE 2024 marked by novelties, with interesting previews for professionals looking for even more functional and sophisticated projection screens. We talked about this with Annalisa Orlando at the ScreenInt stand.
“This year we have a lot to say in terms of innovation, actually more than in previous editions,” explains Annalisa Orlando, marketing and sales manager at ScreenInt. “We have managed to display everything we had set out to do and, above all, we are presenting a brand-new product, still in the development phase, which is proving very successful”. The novelty is called Davinci Ascender and is a motorised screen that rises from below. It can therefore be placed on the ground and consists of a very robust rear pantograph, the dimensions of which are still being defined. From the ‘standard’ 120 inches, the specialists at ScreeInt are aiming for up to a 4-metre base, for installation in churches, lecture halls and other prestigious spaces. The pantograph allows the canvas to be stretched smoothly, creating a refined and professional aesthetic in every context.
“The proposal is also interesting from the point of view of structural constraints, when screens cannot be anchored to the wall due to specific requirements,” continues Annalisa Orlando. “Moreover, this type of product has been engineered by very few companies in the world and is difficult to find on the Italian market. We have designed and manufactured it entirely in Italy, in every single component. For example, the pantograph springs were created exclusively for the Davinci Ascender, at the specific request of ScreenInt”. It will soon be possible to supply the customer with the mechanism alone, to be integrated in a dedicated cabinet, to create even more elegant and functional solutions.
Focus on UST projectors
Another novelty appreciated by the Barcelona audience was the UST surface mounted on the ultra-thin Leonardo FR37 frame screen. Designed for UST (Ultra Short Throw) projectors, it also boasts outstanding Ambient Light Rejection (ALR) characteristics. This means that its overlapping layers create a superior barrier to ambient light, both natural and artificial. It allows maximum rendering of light from below the projectors, maintaining perfect contrast and vivid colours. The surface provides 0.65 gain and 180° viewing angle, achieving an ALR factor of 88% and contrast ratio of 18:1.
Along with the UST surface, we also saw a new drawer for this projector category, available in white or black. The manual solution, for table or cabinet, is ideal for correctly distancing the machine from the wall and recreating a precise image size for the screen. An adjustable plate also helps to keep the set parameters constant between the wall and the UST projector.
Finally, here is the reinforced counterweight with lateral adjustments ‘in action’ on Tensioned screens, on which we could see perfect flatness and total absence of waves. An important result, especially in these screens that are normally taller than wide. The counterweight will be available for the Tensioned series, on the Tiziano, Giobbe and Raffaello models.
