LG’s digital signage technology together with Atletico Madrid fans at the new “Wanda Metropolitano” Stadium.
After four years of renovation, the Spanish football team Atletico Madrid was able to welcome its fans into the new home stadium, “Wanda Metropolitano”, the third largest in the Country. Winner of many titles in Spain and Europe since its founding in 1903 to date, Atletico Madrid could not settle for a “simple” sports Stadium. Moreover, this year, the trend of football clubs is to provide fans with the stadium a 360° entertainment experience.
The “Wanda Metropolitano” can accommodate up to 68.000 viewers and is able to clearly reproduce all the game play actions on LG TVs and commercial LED displays, visible from every corner of the system. At the top of the stadium were placed large LED billboards, also supplied by LG Electronics.
These are two boards of 15.2 m x 5.6 m each, consisting of one hundred LED panels with a pitch of 12 mm pixels, and in addition there is a third board of 10 m x 5.6 m, consisting of sixty-five LED panels with a pitch of 16 mm pixels. In the coming months will be installed in the fan zone a fourth board of 8.1 m x 4.6 m. These structures can emit a brightness of 6.000 nit, which makes the details well visible even under sunlight.
For stadium operators, LG’s LED commercial displays offer a remarkable benefit thanks to fast installation times, minimal maintenance and operational efficiency. Finally, products such as the 720 LED panel belt with 16 mm pixel pitch provide an interesting space for advertisers, while improving the experience of fans with player statistics and team hymns displayed between the second and the third ring.
These new products are added to LG’s previous collaboration with Atletico Madrid, which consisted in supplying of information displays and large outdoor videowall.
