During a period of stasis from OLED studies, years ago LG Electronics decided to reinvest in developing this technology, bringing to completion the LG OLED Signage series and thus offering new communication opportunities to today’s designers thanks of a dynamic and unique medium capable of transmitting picture and video content with brilliant colors, very dark blacks and intense brightness. These features are possible thanks to the same OLED technology: single pixels are autonomous from each other and self-lit; the panel’s structure is thus simpler, thinner (as it doesn’t need light sources other than the panel itself) and allows for a very wide viewing angle.
OLED is thus the solution for communication in the retail world, and luxury in particular, where it is important to correctly show shapes and colors of high-range products, in addition to offering a unique purchasing experience, immersing customers in striking environments that stay in their memories, while at the same time making them feel at ease.
LG Electronics offers various types of OLED: in addition to “Wallpaper” & Video Wall solutions, the Dual View version is available, which is active on both sides and equipped with an elegant ground and ceiling stand; the In Glass series sees the panel inserted into a transparent finish, making it become a true “painting”. Of particular prominence is the 55” Open Frame series, for which it is possible to choose the grade and type of curve—concave or convex. With these modules, which can be attached on both ends, it is possible to obtain vaults, tunnels, wavy panels, circles and anything creativity could suggest.
Would you like to walk under the “waves” of a bright sea? This is possible at the Dubai Mall in Dubai at the Aquarium, where the largest videowall in the world is found, composed of 820 LG OLED Signage Open Frame panels: a spectacle not to be missed.
But the future? It will be transparent:
