As ISE 2017 concluded, there were many feelings that accompanied us on the trip back home. As we already said in the last editorial, the numbers constituted the feature that most struck us in the short term: the presence of the large quantity of exhibitors, but, above all, of visitors, became real as we went through the “citadel” of 14 pavilions in order to attend the various events that followed one another over the course of the days of the fair.
As we wait for official data, we can only refer to the proud projections that Mike Blackman, Managing Director of ISE, had already displayed at the meeting with the press before the ribbon-cutting ceremony on 7 February: from the addition of 3,000 m2 of exhibition floor space in Hall 14, to the presence of exhibitors coming from 187 different countries, to the expectation of a number of visitors that would have greatly surpassed that of the preceding year. And that’s how it was: starting with those that attended the courses, this year there were more than 73,500 visitors present (a cool 13,500 more compared to 2016). In the upcoming weeks, we will seek to understand their profile so that we can also understand the potential evolution of the figures involved in the market.
In respect to such data (and following our interviews with exhibitors and visitors), we see that the fair, within a company’s activity, represents a crucial possibility to build up and expand their business, no longer just on a European level. Not only the exhibitors, though, were satisfied by the fair: despite the fact that there were no revolutionary proposals from a technological or solutions point of view, the constant search for quality and service was evident and satisfied expectations. Even those of professional end users, on whom much of companies’ attention seems to be currently focused, were satisfied. In any case, ISE 2017 was fascinating for the entire kaleidoscope, an enormous – immersive, one might say – spectacle given by the quantity and quality of products presented.
On Friday evening, at the stroke of 16:00, the excited voice of Mike Blackman announced the final closing of the fair, a message that was praised by the ovation of the exhibitors – certainly worn out after such an intense four days, but certainly satisfied by the mountain of contacts and opportunities that confirm ISE as an unmissable occasion.
