Among the many missed appointments of this crazy 2020, the Design Week in Milan must also be included, otherwise known, more amicably, “Fuorisalone”. But the organizers haven’t “resigned” themselves, promoting a very special virtual edition.
No Fuorisalone, this year, because of covid-19? Not at all! Of course, it is not a “physical” Fuorisalone, we will not have the pleasure – which is renewed every year – to wander the streets of the city discovering unusual and suggestive corners, and revealing surprising settings and cutting-edge technological proposals. More than 300 companies and designers, however, have been online since June 15 with Fuorisalone TV, for a series of “virtual events” that manage, at least in part, to make up for the lack of “real Fuorisalone”.
It is the first edition of the Digital Fuorisalone, because the desire for innovation is always a lot and the ability to communicate it is irrepressible, despite the covid! Over 30 hours of Live talks, over 200 On Demand videos and 25 webinars to enjoy, all for free.
Among the topics covered:
Rethink! Service Design Stories. Curated by Poli.design, the first festival on service design in Italy.
The sense of design. Curated by Casa Corriere, smart interviews with the protagonists of design.
Visionnaire Live Show. Curated by Visionnaire, three talks dedicated respectively to Art, Design & Uniqueness, The Ecosystem of Design, All the Beauty is yours.
And again, Design Digest, edited by H-FARM, which answers the questions: “What is Design today? What are the new fields of application? Who are the new actors involved?”
Also important is the appointment with topics such as “Made in Italy and globalization after the pandemic”, an intervention by Federico Fubini, Bill Emmott and Diego Piacentini which promises to face the complex problems that will arise for the export of Italian companies after the tsunami of Coronavirus: not only are the problems, however, since we are also talking about understanding what opportunities are opening up for Italian productions.
Finally, a wide selection of documentaries, including:
- THE NEW BAUHAUS, directed by Alysa Nahmias, produced by Opendox, in association with Ajna Films;
- THE CLIMATE LIMBO, directed by Elena Brunello, Paolo Caselli and Francesco Ferri, produced by Dueotto Film and APS Cambalache;
- ABOUTCAMBIO-FORMAFANTASMA, directed by Leone and Vittoria Elena Simone, produced by C41.eu.
Live and on demand contents are available on the Fuorisalone.tv platform and on its Facebook page.
