At the recent MiR tradeshow, in Rimini, FBT Elettronica presented two new models of speaker enclosure for fixed installations.
Based on the success of the Vertus CLA (Column Line Array) series, which up until now included only models with internal amplification for mobile applications and for medium-small venues. These new models offer a small form factor and incorporate transformers for use in 100V constant voltage systems. Designed for permanent installations, these speakers are IP55 rated – with enclosures completely protected against the entry of dust and against jets of water – and are EN54-24 certified for use in emergency and evacuation systems. The cabinets are constructed of extruded aluminum, with a powder-coated finish, in black and white versions.
Vertus CLA 403T incorporates four 3″ full-range transducers with 3/4″ voicecoils, while CLA 803T uses eight of the same speakers. Both models incorporate a passive circuit that allows the user to select a vertical coverage of 15° or 40°, while the horizontal coverage is fixed at 110°. Multiple units can be coupled, even between the two different models, to adapt the coverage and available sound pressure level to the specific application. CLA 403T can develop a maximum SPL of 113 dB continuous at 1 m (116 dB peak), while the larger model can develop 119 dB (122 dB peak). Each model has a bandwidth from 140 Hz to 20 kHz. The two models have a continuous applicable power of 60 W and 120 W @ 100 V, respectively.
A variety of optional accessories are available to allow maximum flexibility in installation and for the coupling between units.
