Distributed in Italy by Leading Technologies, the Electro-Voice brand is always at the forefront, as evidenced by the new EVU series of ultra-compact two-way speakers, suitable for multiple applications.
Composed of four models, the Electro-Voice EVU series uses a small format ICT-1-8 high frequency compression driver with a 1.3” titanium diaphragm, common to all models, mounted on a 90° x 50° 6 square-inch rotatable waveguide.
These are ultra-compact two-way speaker systems with 6.5” (EVU-1062/95 and EVU 2062/95) and 8” (EVU-1082/95 and EVU-2082/95) woofers, which allow housing in ultra-compact cabinets. The studied asymmetrical shape of the housing offers the possibility of an appropriate vertical aiming for both under-balcony and stage applications. Models EVU-1062/95 and EVU 1082/95 are single-woofer, while EVU-2062/95 and EVU 2082/95 are dual-woofer. For the rest, the products of this series share all the technical and construction characteristics: equipped with delay systems, the speakers are available in white or black and are suitable for various applications, including front-fill and wall-mount, thanks to the U-bracket supplied.
As far as constant directivity waveguides are concerned, Electro-Voice is an avant-garde brand, having developed the first ones in the 70s maintaining, unlike the devices of the time, nominal coverage angles over a wide range of frequencies. “Constant directivity” meant that anyone sitting in the waveguide model received the same frequency balance as anyone else, which results in truly uniform coverage and sound quality in every position within a location. Today’s waveguide of the EVU series incorporates the refinements made in over 30 years of development, particularly in terms of design. The square grid makes the EVU coverage model rotatable 90° x 50°, so the orientation of the speaker is independent of the desired horizontal coverage. The overall size of the speaker mouth is also important: with its 6”, it offers an effective physical correspondence with the 6,5” and 8” woofers mounted by the different models, always with the aim of achieving better directivity of sound.
