The resumption of the appointments of the SIEC Academy, with the seminar on Videoconferencing and UC&C next March 1, 2, and 3, gave us the opportunity for an interview with the President of the association, Christian Pieretto. We talked about technical training in general and how SIEC interprets this mission.
The next 1, 2, and 3 of March, from 2 to 4 pm, the SIEC seminar about Videoconferencing and UC&C will take place with remote participation. The sessions held by Michele Perini, a real “guru” of these topics, aim to offer a technical overview of the subject, for designers and installers but above all for the technical and commercial profiles of the companies. The proposal will be “label-free”, as Pieretto pointed out, and the program is divided into three days and three topics:
- March 1st – Videoconferencing with international standard protocols
- March 2nd – Collaboration solutions
- March 3rd – Videoconferencing infrastructures
Christian Pieretto – The SIEC Academy is part of the growth process of the association, it is at the same time service to our members and a way to contribute to raising the level of the market, aggregating the largest number of professionals. The courses are either informative and free or more technical and paid, and conducted by professional trainers mostly unrelated to companies. The training proposal of the sector, in fact, often passes through the company channel, while with SIEC we wanted to build an impartial proposal, focused on technologies, deep enough to be useful for both purely technical and commercial profiles. Then, of course, those who need an in-depth study of specific solutions will find all the answers attending the vendor courses. The topics are chosen after an internal survey and therefore respond to real needs expressed by the base of members.
Connessioni – How is the course structured?
CP – Michele Perini is what you might call a luminary in the medical field, and thanks to him we will touch on all aspects, from the genesis of videoconferencing to network structures, to available platforms and without “naming names,” with an intense program over three afternoons. It’s open to everyone, and we already have non-member members as well.
Connessioni – Are there any other proposals planned?
CP – In the coming months, we will be proposing a similar format on the theme of LED walls; technology is so widespread and the commercial proposal so wide that it is useful to clarify, and on AV over IP, another main theme of today’s market.
At ISE we will be present, probably with a stand, which will be devoted to hospitality, to become a point of reference, relaxation, and work, for the Italians in Barcelona.
