Even if in Italy the tradition of “Awards” is less present than elsewhere – the InAVation Awards ceremony is one of ISE’s great celebrations and contact opportinities – this year Italian professionals will have the choice: the KNX Italia association has announced both the already well-known KNX Awards, which aim to reward the best projects realised with the KNX standard, and the new KNX Challenge 2023, dedicated instead to architects, and which involves the realisation of a project
Next 29 September will be the deadline to apply for the KNX Italian Awards, the prizes for the best KNX projects realised in Italy in terms of innovation and implementation excellence. The awards are open to designers, installers, system integrators, schools and other active players. Entries are available for seven different categories (Energy Efficiency, Social, Hospitality, Public Administration, Best National Project, and then for projects submitted by research centres and schools). The awards will be presented as traditionally during the KNX Day, next November.

The KNX Challenge is a new initiative designed to disseminate the potential and values of automation technologies, and of the KNX standard in particular, to architects. The initiative, sponsored by the Fondazione degli Architetti di Firenze and in the process of being accredited, involves tutoring each participant by a KNX Professional – designers and system integrators who operate using the standard – in order to realise a project that combines energy efficiency and user-friendliness through automation solutions, in five different categories: Classroom, residential building, disability support, conference room, hotel room. You can download the announcement and register for the competition from this link, https://www.eventbrite.it/e/biglietti-knx-challenge-715184595377, the deadline for submitting entries will be 23 October. The award ceremony will be on 16 November during the Smart Building Expo, the winning projects will displayed in an exhibition during the fair, and will be published in the KNX Journal and on our editorial channels.
