Presented at ISE 2020, the new Bose Professional proposal for the world of video conferencing is something more than a ‘simple’ SoundBar, starting with the name: VideoBar VB1
It is well known how the clarity of audio and video – but above all audio – is fundamental in conference rooms, when remote meetings are organised. The period we are going through has further accentuated the need to create video conferences and remote meetings, without an excessive expenditure of energy to set up the suitable environments. The Bose proposal goes precisely in this direction: a product that is simple to install, all-in-one, and able to offer very satisfying user experiences in different types of environments.
VB1: video conferencing everywhere
Bose Videobar VB1 is an all-in-one USB video conferencing device, suitable for conference rooms, from huddle spaces to medium-sized rooms, able to minimise background noise in the most extreme conditions and focus on voices in the room
The purpose of VideoBar VB1 is to ensure a clear vision of the images and fully understandable audio, thanks to its six beam-steering microphones that automatically focus on human voices within the room or, in any case, on the closest voices, reducing or completely eliminating background noise.
Faithful audio reproduction is guaranteed by Bose proprietary transducers, both in the case of multimedia presentations and Bluetooth audio signal. Compared to normal SoundBar, however, the Bose proposal also includes the video side, with a 4K ultra-HD video camera equipped with auto framing, which allows remote participants to see not only the interlocutors but also any display boards, whiteboards or other objects inside. interior of the room where the meeting is held.
The simplicity of the USB connection
An incredibly important aspect, as we said above, of videoconferencing at the time of Covid-19 (and at all times really) is the simplicity of implementation. Organising a remote meeting with another company headquarters or with customers must not be complicated and it must not require specialised technical figures. Here the VB1 single cable USB connectivity is an additional advantage, avoiding the need for separate audio and video cables, and reducing the overall size of the equipment.
Bose VideoBar VB1 adapts easily to the space available also thanks to the table stand or wall mounting kit included; alternatively – optional – it is also possible to use a VESA coupling. All mounting options allow you to tilt the camera at will, so that people always remain centred within the image.
Take advantage of the existing network
Finally, the last principle of easy video conferencing is support for the existing network infrastructure, without the need for additional equipment or dedicated software. By perfectly integrating with the most popular third-party cloud services, including Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts Meet, Zoom etc., Bose VB1 further simplifies life for users (even remotely.) Configuring the VideoBar is simple, thanks to the Bose Work utility tool, available as an App or via a web browser; the management of individual devices can also be performed remotely via the App: it displays the status in real time and allows changes to be made to each individual unit or at the system level, if several units have been installed in multiple locations. The mobile app can also control all the settings in real time, from the volume to the panning movement to Bluetooth pairing etc.
