Audio/video is one of the technological factors that can most improve the quality of work environments. With this main idea, Touchwindow created the multifunctional center of an important Venetian company in the packaging sector.
Since corporate welfare also involves the creation of spaces that allow you to live and work better, it’s not surprising that the project for the creation of the new multifunctional center of an important Venetian company – curated by Touchwindow – was based on the use of Shure, Biamp and Tannoy technologies, all brands of the Prase Media Technologies “stable”. Designed for events, situations of aggregation and collaboration – with Hall, Fitness area, Coffee Break area and Bistrot, as well as rooms for video conferences, meetings and auditoriums – this new multifunctional and multipurpose area also focuses a lot on electroacoustic quality.
It is never easy, in fact, to combine aesthetics and performance, and the integration of the systems of this project presented various challenges in the acoustic field, also due to the architectural constraints and the specific needs of the client. To obtain the required result, Touchwindow made an accurate preventive study, as Marco Cella, Application Engineer, Prase Media Technologies confirms: “The glass and concrete structure” – he said – “implies abundant reverberation. Furthermore, one of the principal requests of the client was to maintain a discreet visual impact similar to the aesthetics of the rooms. Added to this is the multifunctional nature, both for face-to-face meetings and videoconferencing and for events. With Touchwindow we tested different design solutions, finally identifying the most elegant technological combination capable of easily adapting to the change of context.”
Under the circumstances, the ceiling was the best location for conference room microphones. “We recommended using the Shure MXA7104ft Linear Microphone Arrays” – explained Matteo Trevisan, Tech Support Engineer, Prase Media Technologies – “which allow you to orient the lobes in order to avoid background noise and possible reflections. The MXA710s were further supported by the integrated IntelliMix noise reduction algorithms that allow you to pick up and eliminate those noises that do not correspond to the speaker’s voice.”
To ensure audio flexibility when the rooms are reconfigured for events, the system integrator decided to equip them with Shure SLX-D wireless microphones, a choice due in particular to their RF stability, which allows to avoid interference on radio frequencies during particularly crowded events, with a high number of of mobile phones present that could disturb reception. Tannoy column loudspeakers, model VLS15-EN54-B, were installed for the diffusion of audio in meeting rooms, a type of speaker particularly suitable for environments with difficult acoustics, as the directivity of the diffusion emphasizes speech intelligibility and decreases the risk of reflections and echoes.
Finally, the aesthetic choice for Bistrot and Fitness area is different. For these environments, the choice fell on the Biamp Desono pendant diffusers, models DP6 and P6-SM, which combine an attractive design with full-range diffusion in rain configuration. The audio signals and systems of the multipurpose center interact thanks to the digital audio platforms Tesira Forté DAN AI and Tesira Forté DAN CI.
