The substance of projection

ScreenInt’s booth at ISE 2018 (Hall 1 – N40) features two interesting new products from different areas: a new projection screen and a lift for large projectors.
ScreenInt, during the 2018 edition of Integrated Systems Europe, has again been confirmed as a brand that is capable of offering complete projection solutions, both on the screen end and in terms of projector installation. Indeed, creating a projection doesn’t just depend on the effectiveness of the technical means (the projector first and foremost), but rather also on what we could call “projection infrastructure”: screens, surfaces and mounts/brackets for projectors. In this regard, at ISE 2018 ScreenInt offers a broad panorama of solutions. We would like to pause for a bit on two products in particular, which are quite a spectacle at the company’s booth in Amsterdam.
We’ll start with the new Oyster projection surface, a thin sheet of non-perforated multilayer PET designed to offer high picture contrast that is equipped with the remarkable features of Ambient Light Rejection. In fact, Oyster is able to deflect environmental light in order to guarantee a vivid, high-contrast image, even in highly illuminated environments. This feature makes Oyster an ideal product for Home Cinema application, but also for meeting rooms, stores or information points: in other words, environments in which one can’t avoid artificial light. Oyster’s surface, smooth and dark, avoids interference from lights beside and behind the screen. The cloth adapts to screens with a maximum height of 150 cm and especially to ScreenInt’s Canaletto Elastic, Modigliani and Modigliani Velvet models.
In order to see a screen animated by images, however, first of all it is necessary to position the projector; not a trivial operation, especially when dealing with large, demanding models. ScreenInt offers a new motorized lift, the SI-H L 300, designed to support projectors weighing up to 30 kg. The SI-H L 300’s motorization has the characteristic of being very silent and allows for very precise regulation of its descent, from a minimum of 40 cm to a maximum of 300 cm. The lift is furthermore equipped with special extendable brackets that allow for anchoring the suspended ceiling panel under the projector with a certain ease, even if it is larger than the lift itself. Finally, security screws avoid the possibility of the lift going beyond its end point when descending, even if the traction system is damaged or if there is any damage to the lateral steel cables.
