It’s called SmartSight and based on the EMA50 mobile automation system the new robotics solution designed by Zebra Technologies for food-retail
Zebra Technologies took advantage of the opportunity offered by NRF 2020 (New York, 11-14 January) to present SmartSight, its new intelligent automation solution designed to improve front-of-store operations and customer shopping experience in department stores, grocery stores and supermarkets or hypermarkets. SmartSight takes advantage of the artificial vision, machine learning, automation of operating flows and the robotic capabilities of Zebra Technologies’ EMA50 mobile automation enterprise system to accurately identify any out of stock items, price inconsistencies and positioning on shelves. The solution is proposed in the subscription formula and is designed to process data to be transmitted in real time to the sales staff.
SmartSight integrates into existing retail systems, enhancing the operational flows related to online purchase with in-store pickup (Buy Online Pickup In Store) and online purchase from the store (Buy Online Deliver From Store).
Among the further advantages offered by this solution, the improvement in the inventory availability of the store should also be noted: in fact, by automatically scanning the shelves and promptly reporting to the sales assistants those to be supplied or updated, SmartSight improves the execution of the planogram and allows retailers to reassign on average 65 hours of work per week on each store to more strategic and more customer-oriented tasks and less to the operational management of the references on the shelves.
