The numbers of ISE 2023 have been out for a few days and have already started to circulate on the various platforms and newsletters: the official figures confirm an already at-a-glance well-attended edition, supported moreover by the satisfaction of the exhibitors: although we were several to follow the event we could only hear from some of them, they all confirmed quantity and quality beyond expectations. The end-of-fair communiqu\u00e9 speaks of 58,107 unique visitors from 155 countries, a result, as many writers, that brings it back to its 2019 record levels. This is certainly a remarkable figure even if it needs to be purged of double or triple scans (we, for example, were present all four days) and perhaps also of the numbers corresponding to the staffing of the various booths.<\/p>\n
However, as important as they are, it is not only numbers that “make” a fair but also content and trends, and we have selected some of those observed for you:<\/p>\n
– In many of the interviews we did, it emerged that the profile of visitors is changing, including more and more professional end users. So architects, consultants, facility managers, i.e., that target audience that is not always as easily defined as it is important because it often represents the client, and which ISE has been busy cultivating over time with various special programs (such as conferences, dedicated events, guided tours, etc.). This is an important fact that we believe, will gradually change the approach of the fair and that has already led a System Integrator such as STIM Tech to exhibit at ISE ’23, as described in our article.<\/p>\n
– Green: of course, this is not new, some companies have been making it their banner for years, understood as saving energy in production, but also in the materials chosen, as in the amount of energy for use (a topic in vogue especially in the LED area). Some companies, like Maxhub for example, which also won the Best of Show Award in its category for this, have also built “recyclable” and low-impact booths. But what may appear to be a marginal aspect, in some cases can be substantial: in fact, there are not a few specifications that require supplies only of certain types and according to “green” standards, or companies that adopt strict environmental compatibility protocols and can work only with compliant suppliers and products.<\/p>\n
– at the fair, we noticed many anniversaries, and companies that have been in business for 20-30 years or more: this pleased us because it connotes a certain “seniority” to the sector, perceived so far as still young and undefined. In particular, we are pleased to mention some Italian companies, among them Euromet, which turns 40 this year, and Paso, which reaches 50. Xilica also came of age: 21 years celebrated in style the night before the start of the fair, for a reserved audience that included Connessioni, at the Soho House in Barcelona.<\/p>\n
