Examples like this make it clear how much immersive reality can contribute to our education and awareness: at the MUSE in Trento, we will not miss the opportunity to relive, first-hand, the experience of prehistoric art, perhaps realising at the end that we are no longer looking into the darkness of a cave, but a little inside ourselves.

Put on a visor and become a prehistoric artist. This is the promise of the Lascaux Experience. The Cave of Lost Tales, the exhibition inaugurated last 23 July at the MUSE in Trento. Ever since the cave, a priceless heritage of cave paintings from prehistoric times, was closed for conservation reasons in 1963, it has been much more difficult for visitors to experience the great thrill of getting back in touch with the remotest seasons of humanity. Today, thanks to virtual reality, it is possible to explore the entire cave, to admire its paintings, but also to live interactive experiences and become active protagonists of the story, living an experience comparable to that lived by prehistoric artists 20,000 years ago.
