On 2nd October, the third Smart Installer Forum<\/strong><\/a> took place in Bologna, organised by Smart Building Italia<\/strong> and dedicated to the members of the Smart Installer Register: a day for networking, to reflect on market news and to discuss standards and opportunities. But above all to meet each other, and this time finally in person after two years of online events.<\/span><\/p>\n

Luca Baldin<\/strong>, Project Manager of Smart Building Italia, welcomed more than 60 guests from all over Italy: not without emotion he highlighted the great resilience shown by the industry during the pandemic, and the uniqueness of the moment we are living in currently, in terms of opportunities brought by the decay of old patterns and paradigms. He then thanked and underlined the courage of the sponsors – 2N, Cheapnet, D-Link, IT Answer, Isicheck, Loytec, TCK-Lan, Tecnofiber, Vimar – for having believed in and supported an in-person event at this very first moment of openings, not at all taken for granted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day, divided into the two major themes of opportunities for operators, and the issues that affect the profession today, has seen a succession of programmatic interventions and round tables also participated by the public. The great theme that ran through the entire day was training<\/strong>, always understood as an opportunity for growth, not only professionally but also for the entire category in relation to the institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the morning, Domenico Di Canosa of SBA<\/strong> – Smart Building Alliance – spoke about building control, introducing the environmental issue as the first objective of these technologies, within everyone’s reach and achievable just by providing multi-service systems in new (and old) buildings. The speech of Mauro Savini of ANCI<\/strong> was also very interesting, on the opportunities in view connected with the PNRR: 27% of the resources (about 6.7 billion euros!) will be dedicated to the digitalisation of infrastructures, according to five major areas of interest: Italy at 1 Giga, plan for 5G, School Plan, Health Plan, Minor Islands. Here, too, the theme of open training for professionals and operators of municipalities and PA as a vehicle to achieve these goals has returned. During the morning there was also a round table on the upcoming TV switch off, with the opinions of Bianca Pacini of Confindustria Radio TV<\/strong>, Alessio Beltrame of the Ugo Bordoni Foundation<\/strong> and Davide Rossi of AIRES<\/strong>: very poorly communicated, it could instead represent an opportunity for installers, if they insisted on the need to adapt the entire structures of signal transport, and not just TV, to actually benefit from this technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

The afternoon saw a series of comparisons (for example, on the updating of DM 37\/08<\/strong> on the issue of declarations of conformity) and interventions on sector regulations, such as standard CEI 306-2 that regulates wiring for electronic communications in residential buildings. The afternoon was also the time of certifications for fibre optic technicians with Apave Italia – coming soon – for KNX operators. For security systems; it was also the time of Audio Video, with speeches on the opportunities offered by the sector also for installers according to the remarks of Chiara Benedettini<\/strong>, Editorial Director of Connessioni, and the results of AVIXA market research<\/strong>, presented by Valeria Rapa<\/strong>, Program Coordinator Europe<\/strong> of the association. There was also a well-attended speech by SIEC, through its Vice President Gualtiero Anselmetti<\/strong>, on the recent UNI 11799 process certification for AVC system integration services.<\/span><\/p>\n

An interesting and exciting day, full of ideas to be seized for the historical moment, and probably unrepeatable, of the post-pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n
