Catherine Hodosi, Field Marketing Manager ClickShare EMEA at Barco, discusses what’s new and what’s trending in corporate collaboration in light of global changes over the past year.

Meetings aren’t what they used to be: exactly one year after the start of the pandemic, corporate spaces have completely transformed to meet increasingly ‘mixed’ working needs. Whether in the office or in smart working, the technological essence of the new collaboration lies in the possibility of having effective and productive sharing experiences, wherever you are.

Barco experts are well aware of this, with the technological evolution of Clickshare, best suited to the new way of team working, connected to different devices and physical or virtual locations. The presentation platform offers excellent BYOD capabilities, enterprise-level network security and integration with video conferencing systems in a few clicks.

We have deepened the new trends of collaboration with Catherine Hodosi, Field Marketing Manager ClickShare EMEA, following the interesting webinar on the combination of Barco ClickShare and Microsoft Teams for corporate environments promoted by Maverick AV Solutions, the TechData AV division and distributor of Barco solutions on the Italian market.

Connessioni – As people return to the office, 2021 is set to be the year of the meeting room, which is great news for Barco.
CH – Indeed, as working from home (WFH) fatigue begins to take its toll, the renaissance of the meeting room is well underway. In our experience, the main topics of interest for our enterprise customers are connected to IoT. The migration of ClickShare from a standalone device, to a network connected device. In turn this is allowing our customers to leverage XMS for the platform remote management.

CH – In the SME market, we’re seeing more use of a diverse meeting platform suite, meaning that our customers are having to approach these spaces with a more flexible hardware solution, instead of it being vendor-locked. However, from a user perspective, they’re now realising that they want the same experience, whether they’re joining a call from their home or in a meeting room. This is a key differentiator in the BYOM offering that ClickShare Conference provides, compared to a room system.

CH – Classic ClickShare works great in these spaces. Regardless of the user bringing their laptop, tablet or phone, they can quickly and securely share in the room. However, the expansion of the ClickShare app “One touch join, one click to share” will further increase opportunities for participation and presentation.

CH – Indeed, we were quite a long way ahead of the curve but during the various lockdowns we’ve been using these as an opportunity to further enhance and develop the product, as well as extending the partner programme, that boasts now over 200 approved devices.

CH – Yes, and we can do this from a couple of different perspectives now. The XMS and Power BI platforms open up wider scenarios for monitoring and evaluating space and efficiency in real estate. In addition, the CX APP – Teams is among the most shared applications in the CSE and CX rooms. This validates our thoughts that the users are expecting to host meetings from their laptops.

CH – ClickShare Conference Partner Programme – Certified Partner. This is really giving our partners and end users confidence that they’re buying into a tried and tested solution, that will be supported over the longer term. Plus, as we’re both offering 5 years hardware warranties, there’s a great message in terms of ROI and TCO.

CH – Later this year, we expect to pass through the 1 million devices milestone. This is significant for us, as we have a very broad and long-standing customer base, who have been on their own workplace journey with ClickShare. We expect to see a big jump in demand for our trade-in programme, as organisations ramp up their video-enabled spaces with a simple upgrade from their legacy ClickShare devices to a Conferencing enabled unit.
