A new LED lighting system for the great \u201cTurin lady\u201d, the Mole Antonelliana, was curated by Iren with the decisive collaboration of Clay Paky.<\/strong>
\nThe ladies wear make-up and embellish themselves! The Mole Antonelliana<\/strong>, which regally dominates the city of Turin<\/strong> with its silhouette, received a new touch of color, a new fascinating lighting thanks to the work of the Iren Group<\/strong><\/a>, in collaboration with Clay Paky<\/strong><\/a>.
\nThe new lighting system consists of 43 Claypaky ODEON<\/a> projectors,<\/strong> of which 24 Odeon Flood Maxi RGBW<\/strong> with 15\u00b0<\/strong> optics, three Odeon Flood Maxi RGBW<\/strong> with 25\u00b0<\/strong> optics and 16 Odeon Flood Medium RGBW<\/strong> with 25\u00b0<\/strong> optics. These are devices explicitly designed for architectural use, available in different optical units (15\u00b0<\/strong>, 25\u00b0,<\/strong> and 35\u00b0<\/strong>) and aesthetic finishes. The ODEONs<\/strong><\/a> adopt the high-power OSRAM multi-chip LED technology<\/strong> which ensures good color mixing and electronic brightness adjustment. In short, these are ideal tools for highlighting historical and artistic monuments, public and private buildings, bridges and architectural structures, parks and gardens.

\nFurthermore, the project involved the elaboration of a re-fitting that used the already equipped stations, identifying the number of projectors needed to reach a light distribution on all four sides, with a minimum illumination of two candles per square meter. The use of Claypaky ODEON<\/a> projectors<\/strong> with a 15\u00b0<\/strong> optic made it possible to reach the goal and in some cases even to improve it. The entire new lighting was conceived at a distance, placing the lighting fixtures on top of the roofs of the houses and covering a total area of approximately 100 m2.<\/strong>

\nThe IP65<\/strong> and IK09<\/strong> protection and the working temperature (from -25\u00b0<\/strong> C to +50\u00b0C<\/strong>) of the Claypaky ODEONs<\/strong><\/a> guarantee long life and reliability over the years, even in particularly adverse weather conditions (not unrelated to Turin!). To ensure the remote control and management of the entire system, a fiber optic connection was created that reaches all the projectors and, through a DMX 512 signal converter<\/strong> in each station, allows to change all the parameters: color, switch-on times, etc. The result is tangible: before this re-fitting, to change the tonality of illumination of the Mole<\/strong> it was necessary to proceed in a manual way, through employees who had to reach the heights up to the headlights and arrange from time to time colored gelatine filters on each element, depending on the desired light tone. With the new system, instead, it\u2019s possible to assign any desired color, obtain any shade of white, decrease or increase the intensity of the lighting of all the headlights or some headlights in groups, with just a few clicks directly remotely.

\nFinally, replacing the old 1200 Watt<\/strong> discharge floodlights with the new Odeon batteries<\/strong> will save 50%<\/strong> on electricity.
\nThe first opportunity to exploit and officially test the new lighting came with the 2018<\/strong> end-of-year festivities, when the Mole<\/strong> was illuminated first \u201cChristmas blue\u201d, then red for Christmas night and \u201cchampagne\u201d at New Year Day, while, more recently, she wore pink for the charity event \u201cJUST THE WOMAN I AM.\u201d<\/strong>
