On their booth, visitors could try out the tracking function native to Modulo Kinetic with a remote-controlled robot in a 3D-mapped environment, as well as see demonstrations of the low-latency live video mixer embedded in both Modulo Kinetic and Modulo Player.

To have a little more information on the company and product range, we spoke with their brand-new Marketing & Communication Manager, Amandine Teyssier.

“Modulo Player is made for everyday applications,” explained Teyssier, “such as video mapping. It has an embedded X-Map function, which allows the user to apply 2D warping very easily. You can use it to manage show control as well. New to the latest version of Modulo Player is a live mixer embedded directly, it is the first solution of this type in the world”.

At ISE 2019 we also discovered Modulo Kinetic, designed for the most challenging projects. It is a fully-integrated media server solution and includes a 2D video compositing tool, based on timelines. There is also a 3D engine to help do simulations. As well as adding the embedded mixer, for the latest version Modulo Pi developed its own tracking solution, which doesn’t rely on additional or third-party plug-ins or widgets.

“Depending on the needs of the customer,” added Teyssier, “we have different configurations: for live show, fixed installations such as museums. For example, for the Klimt expo in Paris, which had one million visitors in nine months. We had 35 Modulo Kinetic servers installed there for the studies and simulations. The same company that created this installation is also doing these world-wide”. Concerning the company’s strategies on the entertainment market, Amandine Teyssier has no doubts about the future potential. “We are quite a young company,” concluded the manager, “but we have become a point of reference in France. We have also enjoyed some success world-wide, with our system being used for such events as the Commonwealth Games in Australia. Modulo Kinetic was launched only three years ago, and we are still a small company – less that ten people. We are still looking for partners in many markets”.
