The ambitious aim is to set new technical standards for video surveillance. With the approval by the antitrust authorities, the partnership in video surveillance between Bosch Security Systems and Sony Corporation is effective as from 1 February 2017. This partnership involves a collaboration between marketing and sales organizations, as well as a technical collaboration. Sony’s marketing and sales team joined the new dedicated group of Bosch Security Systems division. All customers of Sony video surveillance will therefore be followed and supported by this new team, in all markets except Japan.

As for the technical collaboration, both companies want to set new standards for high-resolution video images, even in low light conditions. In March 2017, Sony will launch eight new Full HD video surveillance cameras (1080p) within the sixth generation network cameras range (G6). The high sensitivity of these new cameras allows to maintain color integrity even in extremely low light situations. At the same time, Bosch is currently updating its video analytics portfolio and the bitrate management. Starting in May 2017, in fact, all IP 4000 network cameras series will be equipped with the integrated video analysis as well as the latest bitrate management techniques combined with H.265 video encoding, reducing the bitrate up to 80%.

Bosch and Sony innovations will be presented at the ISC West 2017 (5-7 April) in Las Vegas. The launch of the first products jointly developed is scheduled, instead, for 2018.
