The new SEVER showroom in Verona won the Control4 Award in the category “EMEA Best Lighting Project”. The installation was handled by Media&Tech, and is notable because it’s conceived a new multimedia presentation and interactive format, run entirely by Control4. It includes the gestural control of home automation and A/V systems. The user, in practice, can raise or lower the curtains, dim a light or manage the video content of a presentation with a simple gesture. All this to offer new possibilities for communication and emotional involvement. The space is conceived as a meeting place for architects and clients, in which the technologies employ to display images, projects and multimedia clips. The technology allows in fact projections in 4K also manageable by users even with the simple movement of the hands. Inside the showroom are located a consultation/meeting area and a break area. SEVER will make available to designers its structure for presenting and/or sharing of their projects. Products used include Control4 EA-5, Matrix 8Amp Amplifier, Digital Media, HDMI Matrix 4×4, 4 DIN-8Rel, video processor M-Frame, TV Sony 65” 4K, Touchscreen Control4 7”, seven DMX LED dimmer and two Strip LED RGB.

Control4 combines automation and lighting control with gestural detection of MIRA (developed by Media&Tech and based on Microsoft Kinect) providing, in addition to its proprietary touchscreen, an interface that uses specific gestures to lift a shutter or dimming a light. MIRA also integrates with M-Frame multi-video processor.

Media & Tech developed a specific driver of integration between MIRA and Control4, to make sure that the control system receives inputs directly from a gesture. The goal is to accompany the guest in an emotional path that puts him in relation to the technology in a different way.

The space is designed to “sell itself”: the product, that is proposed, is the space itself. A very interesting format, replicable and adaptable to any production.
