The new BenQ X12000 combines BenQ’s CinematicColor technology with LED HLD ColorSpark Philips technology to reproduce the brightness and precision of DCI-P3 color space of digital cinema. The DCI-P3 color gamut includes a much larger portion of the visible color spectrum, now covering many more colors than Rec. 709 and sRGB. Equipped with 8,3 million individual pixels, BenQ X12000 meets the criteria required for 4K UHD by the Consumer Technology Association and offers very close viewing experience to a digital cinema. The projection is in 16: 9, 3840 x 2160 UHD with XPR technology. The brightness is 2,200 lumens for a contrast ratio of 50,000: 1. The projector is designed to provide at least 20,000 hours of use, and weighs 18,5 kg. LED HLD ColorSpark Philips technology is able to cover a wide color gamut and offers a screen brightness up to three times, by combining red and blue high brightness LEDs with the green light of a phosphorus High Lumen Density module. This wider color gamut and this higher brightness are refined by the exclusive BenQ CinematicColor technology to produce the DCI-P3 expanded color gamut. The accuracy of color reproduction is guaranteed by DLP technology with single DMD chip, which eliminates the defects caused by misalignment of the panel, particularly critical for the pixels in 4K format, which are much smaller than those of 1080p.

To further facilitate the adaptation to the home cinema installations, BenQ X12000 has lens adjustable in height and width, as well as a 1.5X zoom. The new projector will be distributed from February 2017.
