In the Covid-19 era, spaces and work tools must evolve and become intelligent to represent a barrier against the infection and spread of the virus: in this logic, here is the new VS Covid-19 module from the Universus system
Social distancing is only the first step. Safety in the workplace depends on intelligent, interconnected spaces and tools capable of monitoring movements and relationships, preventing potential dangerous situations such as that which can occur when using non-sanitized work tools, from the lathe to the copier.
The Universus system, designed also, but not limited, to ensure the correct use of safety helmets and shoes and to reduce the incidence of accidents at work, has developed the new “VS Covid-19” module to meet the needs of phase 2.
The keywords in phase 2, in fact, are security, trust and speed. If the safety component is fundamental for the containment of the infection, trust comes from the need for relationships, while the speed is the response time in the event of an “alarm”. The Universus platform – designed to digitally represent the effects of interactions between objects in the real world – was initially applied in companies to make workplaces safer, decrease the incidence of accidents at work, calculate with proprietary algorithms the non-compliance index, zone by zone, and supporting critical emergency situations such as the flow of people to the collection points in case of evacuation. Easily installed, the Universus system can interact with a badge or bracelet which, suitably calibrated, are able to provide the appropriate information and signals.
“By making objects intelligent and interconnected within a digitally mapped environment, it’s possible to highlight when certain rules are less”, explains Romano Giovannini who, together with Marco Magro, is among the main architects of the Universus system. “The discriminating are the rules that are introduced: if we set as a rule that not to approach another person below a certain distance or the need to sanitize a certain workstation or a work tool used by multiple users, we get a system that allows you to constantly monitor compliance with safety standards. Each time the limits are exceeded, the system sends an alert signal: it can be a message on the smartphone, an acoustic signal or even a vibration to a bracelet.”
“In addition” – adds Marco Magro – “we can make a mask or gloves ‘smart’ by applying small transmitters and inform if they are worn or not; in the same way we can make smart a chair placed in a waiting room that is generally used by many different people, and pay attention both to an entire environment and to a single object, such as a printer or copier: each time it is used, Universus activates the ‘dynamic quarantine’ in the space around the object, preventing its use by a person other than the previous one until the object has been sanitized.”
The Universus platform, which precisely integrates in business processes, is flexible, scalable and declinable over time according to future needs, and to make any business reality not only safer, but also more resilient, always in compliance with regulations current.
Due to the importance of the information it collects and the need for use and re-modulation, the system is -proposed with operating rental formula and is part of the facilities provided for the tax credit.
