WAVE is the new PPDS cloud platform, created with the support of partners and system integrators for the remote control and management of Philips professional displays and designed with API-first architecture to allow the integration of third-party systems and applications.
Presented at ISE 2022 Barcelona, WAVE is a secure, intuitive and scalable management platform, dedicated to the remote control of the Philips display range with Android SoC on board and designed to meet the requirements and needs of end customers. Developed with the involvement of several PPDS partners from EMEA and North America, WAVE is designed to reduce the complexity of installation and configuration on different display models. The platform can guarantee speed and cost-effectiveness of monitoring, assistance and installation times, both for a few displays and for large fleets, with both local and global distribution, allowing the system integrator to focus on the added value to offer to its customers, rather than compatibility issues.
Sian Rees, International Product Manager of PPDS, commented: “We have created WAVE while really considering the user experience – from the point of view of the system integrator, but also of the third-party players who program with our API – and the launch of the platform is just the first step in providing a solution that will increasingly enable our signage partners – and soon those in the Hotel TV and LED segments – to enhance their AV ecosystems”.
Immediate configuration and full visibility
WAVE is already available for Philips Q-Line, D-Line, T-Line and C-Line displays, and any display running Android 7 or later can be supplied with it. The platform allows you to remotely manage any number of accounts and displays across multiple locations, and easily and reliably perform firmware updates, screen debugging, adjust settings, add content, and receive alerts.
Remote maintenance, control and customisation
WAVE allows you to proactively anticipate problems, reducing or even eliminating downtime and potentially costly interruptions, controlling the software update of the displays and maximising their performance for better commercial results. The platform can then be customised for the brand and the activities of the system integrator, even with the ability to connect the solution via a dedicated URL.
During the testing phases of WAVE, Alistair Wright, Managing Director of UX Global Limited – PPDS Platinum Partner, stated: “We look forward to seeing the evolution of this extraordinary platform, it will become a fundamental tool available to system integrators because it offers a unique development solution for the complete remote management of the entire Philips professional display network.”
