Hikvision, a global leader in Security and also present in Italy for 10 years and with a staff of more than 100 people, opened its business to new markets in 2020. The BU Transmission&Display deals with communication and content distribution, thanks to a wide range of visual solutions, from vidiwall to LED, and networking. We talked about this with Maurizio Coates, Buisiness Unit Manager.
We are all used to associating the Hikvision brand with security, a market in which it is widely known, but for the past few years the company has decided to diversify and expand its business, entrusting its development to new Business Units.
“Hikvision,” Maurizio Coates told us, “has decided to base its expansion on two guiding concepts, landmarks in the evolution of the company’s business: Focus, understood as the ability to specialize and dedicate expertise, focusing on objectives, and Reactivity, that is, the ability to respond quickly to stimuli and change, with the courage of early adopters. The ultimate goal is to consolidate Hikvision’s relationship with the market, confirming itself as a reliable partner in a variety of markets: in a nutshell, Hikvision wants to be the ‘right partner’ with whom to start the journey of change.”
Hikvision has therefore launched five new BUs for as many market focuses, one of which is dedicated to communication and content distribution, appropriately mixing proposals for networking and other marketing-oriented ones in the visual area. The Transmission&Display BU targets precisely those markets with the greatest need for innovation and digitization of processes: Public Administration and the Education sector are among them.
The markets of greatest interest
PA and Education are not coincidentally involved in the measures envisaged by the PNRR, and therefore potentially at the center of an important and equally interesting revolution. A digitization that is also pursued thanks to the two large families of solutions proposed by the new BU: on the one hand, those related to networking (arrays, switches, cabling, etc.), and on the other, marketing and visual communication, i.e., displays and video walls for communication and Digital Signage, as well as LEDs for installation and rental applications.
Displays and LEDwalls for informing and communicating are therefore dedicated to Public Administration, and Digital Boards with touch functions are designed for Education, while both are involved by networking solutions and, above all, by HIK Central software, which allows managing both security systems (video surveillance, anti-intrusion, access control, intercom) and the networking and display part.
But also The Retail sector has shown great interest in Hikvision’s Visual solutions, starting with modular Displays, to be managed in a networked and centralized manner, to LED panels for indoor and outdoor use.
The Transmission& Display BU in the Italian market
But what makes Hikvision different from other players in the industry? “Today our priority is to make the brand known outside its historical market, and associate it with the new BUs. – Maurizio Coates tells us. Six people work in the Transmission& Display area, including a coordinator, a technical manager, three dedicated accounts and a dedicated product manager.
