Design and furniture are vast and flexible concepts, as demonstrated by the experience of the Danish company Bang & Olufsen at Fuorisalone 2018.
From a well-known and consolidated product like BeoSound Shape audio system to new BeoPlay P6, through BeoVision Eclipse in its new Wood version: for the Fuorisalone 2018, Bang & Olufsen has chosen to redesign its exhibition space in corso Garibaldi in Milan, so as to present, all together, the news and confirmations.
BeoSound Shape is a wonderful confirmation: wall-mount configurable speaker system, it offers, in addition to the clean and effective reproduction of sound, a real touch of design. The modules are in fact available in a wide range of colors, so as to adapt as much as possible to the environments and to represent, therefore, an ideal piece of furniture.
The novelty of the year is BeoPlay P6, the latest addition to Bang & Olufsen family of portable bluetooth speakers, designed for both indoor and outdoor. To design BeoPlay P6 was called the famous Danish designer Cecilie Manz, who worked with great attention to detail, starting from the choice of a rounded shape and a smooth surface, that allow you to place the speaker anywhere, as well as to move it easily. The shell is in anodized and pearl blasted aluminum.
Also worth noting is the high-quality double layered premium leather strap, which is handy when you hold the speaker to carry it. The user-friendly interface is designed with references to Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 6000 sound system. Beoplay P6 comes with integrated flex buttons milled into the aluminium casing, underlining the overall pre-eminence of craftsmanship. As part of the interface is a OneTouch Button to enable the smart features. Access Siri or Google Assistant on your phone, accept calls, or switch through ToneTouch presets via Beoplay App for a personalised music experience. On the outside, the product offers a play time of up to 16 hours.
The heart of the speaker is three amplifier channels delivering as much as 1 x 36W Class D for woofer, 2 x 30W Class D for full tones for a total of 215W peak power. BeoPlay P6 launches in two colours, Black and Natural. Both colours will be available in Bang & Olufsen stores and in selected third-party retailers from April 23, 2018.
Finally, the new Wood version of BeoVision Eclipse, a 4K OLED screen with HDR technology and Dolby Vision support is also worth mentioning.
As it’s a Bang & Olufsen product, much importance is given to the reproduction of the sound, at the power of 450 watts. BeoVision Eclipse can also be used as a wireless music system, thanks to the integration with AirPlay, Bluetooth or Chromecast, which allow you to transmit music directly from mobile devices. The new wooden finish adds a touch of design and offers new opportunities for environmental installation.
