At InfoComm 2019 Sony presented its line of Full HD IP-based PTZ cameras with 70° viewing angle, NDI/HX functionality, optional 4K upgrade and integration with REA-C1000, the first Video Analytics Appliance based on IA of Sony.
Sony has chosen InfoComm 2019 to present two new PoE+ cameras in addition to the IP-based range of PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) cameras, extending the offer to new markets and applications. The SRG-X400 and SRG-X120 models are designed for use in a wide range of applications in corporate, education, healthcare and event environments, while the BRC-X400, with 4K resolution, is ideal for broadcast productions in studio and for reality TV, as well as for the filming of live events. These cameras integrate the new Exmor R 4K CMOS sensor, which offers a more natural color reproduction with reduced noise. The integrated high-resolution optics allow wide-angle shooting up to 70°, and the ceiling-mount option of the cameras adds flexibility to the solutions. The SRG-X400 also features 40x zoom functionality thanks to Sony Clear Image Zoom technology, while the SRG-X120 offers 12x zoom.

Similar to the BRC-X400, both SRG-X400 and SRG-X120 support SDI, HDMI and IP technologies and offer NDI|HX functionality through an optional license. When used in combination with other NDI compatible hardware or software, the NDI|HX option offers increased flexibility in live IP-based production systems.
The connection via a single IP cable ensures a simple configuration that includes power supply, image output and camera control. The Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) and Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) features are also supported for recording and distribution of audiovisual content. The cameras support two-channel audio, which is encoded and transmitted along with IP video.

Also very interesting is the integration with Edge Analytics Appliance (REA-C1000), the video analysis solution based on Sony’s IA, designed for the audience of lectures, presentations and seminars or for creators and users of MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) . The use of the new PTZ series with the auto tracking function of the REA-C1000 allows for a fluid self-tracking of the presenter. The writing extraction function extracts text and characters written on a white or black board in real time and places them in the foreground. In addition, the CG overlay functionality without chroma key allows you to extract the presenter and position it on any dark background without using a dedicated backscreen or resorting to specialized training.
The new Sony PTZ cameras will be available from November 2019.
