Obviously, we are referring to a peaceful and reciprocal conquest. The Genoese public, first and foremost architects and engineers, displayed great interest in the multimedia topics featured during this study day.
On 12 April, the second stop – after Frosinone at the end of 2016 – of Smart Environments Roadshow took place, the event organized by Connessioni dedicated to the meeting between the worlds of AV and design: architects, engineers, professional end users, IT Managers, etc. A study day that aims to provide inspiration, ideas, guidelines and meeting opportunities for a public that handles multimedia from the applicative end and also to understand the opportunities that technology can offer. Apparently, the topic greatly excited the professionals present, who participated, asked questions and commented, indicating, furthermore, an uncommon proficiency. We are thus led to believe that, gradually (and perhaps thanks in part to events like this), the dialogue between these two worlds can be increasingly fruitful, giving life to ever more pleasing and efficient places in which to work, study and, ultimately, live.
As usual, the program opened with Stefano Cavese, a systems integrator involved with educational projects, who spoke about how to design a multimedia room; the microphone then passed to Donato Masci of Studio Sound Service, who spoke about acoustic treatment and speech intelligibility in this type of environment. After the superb buffet, in the winter garden adjacent to the room, we listened to the speech by Adriano D’Alessio, Lightware Country Manager, on the meaning and “philosophy” of integration, while Davide Moretti, marketing and sales Manager at Casio Italia, spoke about new projection technologies, with examples of how alternatives to lamps are advantageous economically and in terms of stability.
The event was supported by local associations and institutions, whom we would like to thank for the warm welcome and hospitality, and for the great support in all phases of the event’s organization. Above all Confartigianato, thanks to whom it was possible to utilize the marvelous Sala del Bergamasco in the historic palace of the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa. Thanks also to the Order of Engineers and the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservators of Genoa, and the College of Surveyors and Technicians and Graduated Technicians of Genoa, for the educational credits and support offered. Smart Environments Roadshow was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Craftsmanship and Agriculture of Genoa, SIEC, the KNX Italia Association and InfoComm International.
