The presentation of the new L-Acoustics SYVA Colinear Source, organized by Sisme, was held on 18 October and highlighted all the features of a top-level product
Concert level sound and plug and play simplicity for mobile installations: these are the two “souls” of the new L-Acoustics SYVA Colinear Source. The presentation organized by Sisme, the Italian distributor of the L-Acoustics brand, was simple and straightforward: a precise illustration of the main features of the new speaker, followed by a practical demonstration of its functionality in a suitable environment as a theatrical hall. But what exactly does “Colinear Source” mean? SYVA is not a traditional column speaker, but a source that incorporates controlled coverage, output, and coherence of line source technology, without sacrificing the ease of installation and positioning of plug and play point source.
Designed for professional use, SYVA is equipped with six 5” MF speakers with a bandwidth of 87 Hz and three 1,75” HF compression drivers mounted in a DOSC waveform with a progressive curvature J-shaped. Its main applications are live events, theaters, auditoriums that require high sound fidelity and SPL with minimal impact. The new “segment source” transducer system allows for a directivity of 140° x 26°, designed to offer a wide coverage and a range of 35 meters.
For low frequencies, SYVA can be coupled to the SYVA LOW and SYVA SUB subwoofers, which bring the system to a maximum SPL of 142 dB. To manage the system, there is the LA4X amplified controller, capable of handling up to four SYVA speakers, which can be installed on a wall, stand, hanging or grounded.
It should be noted, however, that SYVA LOW and SYVA SUB are not designed to be hung, and the SYVA system is designed to minimize the visual impact in environments where aesthetics are important.
