Two new column diffusers – AD-S802T and AD-S162T – embellish and expand the QSC offer for multiple applications. The well-known American brand, among the Italian flagships of Exhibo, aims to simplify the life of system integrators by offering an audio solution particularly attentive to performance, coverage and aesthetics. Specifically designed to maintain a consistent tonal characteristic across the entire family in ceiling, column, surface, and pendant applications, the AcousticDesign series allows integrators seamless transitions within blended installations. So far the overview. Now let’s go into detail. The new speakers are available in both 8-driver and 16-driver models, with high-quality 70V/100V or 8 ohm bypass. They are full-range systems able to cover a wide range of applications, both foreground and background, even in acoustically-challenged environments.
AD-S802T is an 8-driver column-mount loudspeaker with a 2.5” weather resistant paper cone woofer and 120 W of power capacity. The horizontal coverage angle is 150° (800 Hz – 5K Hz), while the vertical is 15° (3.5K Hz – 17K Hz). The AD-S162T is also a column-mount speaker which however offers 16 drivers with a 2.5” weather resistant paper cone woofer, and a power capacity of 240 W. The horizontal and vertical coverages are higher: 150° (1.2K Hz – 6K Hz Wide and 2K Hz – 6K Hz Narrow), 30° (900 Hz – 17K Hz Wide) and 15° (1.5K Hz – 17K Hz Narrow). Both models are equipped with a pan/tilt mounting system able to guarantee multiple positioning while keeping the speaker close to the wall; the maximum inclination available downwards is -20°. In addition, both models have an impedance value of 8 ohms and are IP-54 certified against dust and water. The aluminum casing is light, which is useful during installation.
The QSC column loudspeakers are also EN54-24 certified and can be used with EVA systems.
In short, two products that seem designed to unleash the fantasies of system integrators in the design of systems that combine the quality of the audio with the discretion and elegance of the speakers.
