Optoma presented two new professional UHD 4K video projectors that inaugurate a new market segment, making available a product that is both powerful and compact, a real “featherweight”.
In boxing, no category is better than another. Quite simply, average weights have different characteristics from maxima, such as welter or feather. The two new professional UHD 4K models introduced by Optoma, 4K550 and 4K550ST, are comparable to “feather weights”, respectively characterized by a brightness of 5.000 and 4.500 lumens. The first mounts a lens with a ratio of 1.39-2.22: 1 while 4K550ST is a short throw (0.78-1) capable of operating even 50 cm away from the projection plane. Both projectors have HDR compatibility, are also suitable for viewing Blue Ray Ultra HD DVDs and are equipped with mechanical vertical lens shift with 100% offset.
But the real strength of these projectors seems to be the ease of installation, which allows their use especially in professional applications where high levels of brightness and maximum image detail are required. The compact dimensions (392x281x129mm) with a weight of less than 6 kg can make the difference. The projectors also incorporate a dedicated protection circuit against accidental shutdowns, have a low noise level (less than 32 dB) and are guaranteed for continuous 24/7 use.
The possible applications are many and range from meeting rooms to simulators but also to various business areas, as well as to CAD designs and all those contexts in which complex details are present and bright and high quality images are needed.
RS-232C and LAN connectivity enable integration and control through industry standards, including Crestron, IP Link, AMX and PJ-Link.
