MA-1 Automatic Monitor Alignment is the new system for acoustic correction and automatic alignment of monitors presented by Neumann, a famous brand distributed in Italy by Exhibo.
An automatic monitor alignment software/hardware: this is, in a nutshell, the latest Neumann innovation, MA-1, designed to ensure the best possible sound quality in any home studio or recording/mastering room application. Through the individually calibrated measurement microphone supplied with the software, the acoustic environment is analyzed with a guided process. Advanced calibration algorithms, jointly developed with the renowned Fraunhofer IIS institute, ensure an optimally matched frequency response and phase correction for accurate and reliable monitoring.
MA-1, unlike conventional correction software, is an integrated solution, with new algorithms, specifically developed for Neumann KH 80 DSP studio monitors with or without KH 750 DSP. No plug-in or special audio driver is required: the alignment data is stored and processed within the internal DSP of the monitors.
Unique feature, the software not only optimizes the amplitude response, but also the phase response, which provides maximum accuracy in terms of linearity and reproduction of the audio program. No special acoustic knowledge is required to use the system: just connect the Neumann monitors to the outputs of the audio interface or the studio monitor controller, then connect the KH80, or the KH750 DSP subwoofer to the Ethernet port of the computer to use the system calibration. For multiple connections just use a standard Ethernet switch.
At this point, the measurement microphone is connected to an used input: the software itself will then guide the user through the measurement process, collecting the data necessary for the acoustic analysis of the environment in which the system was installed. The individual correction parameters are generated on the basis of an optimal curve and in this case specific to the environmental acoustic space calculated by the software. After optimization, you can change the system response as needed. All the resulting correction parameters are stored and processed in the internal DSP of the monitors.
