The second edition of MIR closed on 9 May, and once again we happily discuss it for the various strands within the event that may be of interest to our readers. But let’s go step by step.
Assuredly it is not easy to bring a new fair to life, even less so in Italy, moreover in a sector that is already rather populated with several international events. A demanding challenge that created not a few expectations among the workers of the various sectors involved. But evidently MIR found its own path, meeting and giving voice to the entertainment market, which in Italy boasts both a large number of builders – considering the territory – and several distributors with long experience, in addition to some parallel strands. Thus, to the exhibition area and to the formula in collaboration at Live You Play, which offered a dozen stages where it was possible to watch and listen to technologies live, was added the section brought about by the collaboration with IBTS, for Broadcast, and with us at Connessioni for the world of installations and integrated systems. A format that rests on the specificity of “showing live” and on the various applications of technologies for audio, video, lights…and progressively for controls/supervision.
And even though it was debated, it seemed to be the stage area itself that drew people’s attention: debated for the obviously not-ideal conditions (especially in terms of the acoustic), which conversely placed all the participating workers at the same starting point, but at the same time captivating and spectacular. The market seems to have responded positively, evidently confirming the need for a national moment for gathering together: the press release talks about 30,000 present, shared with MIF (the event lasting three evenings dedicated to DJing, in partial combination with the production). Numbers aside, even the exhibitors spoke to us about good attendance, thus leaving high hopes for the 2018 edition.
