We could rename ‘the magnificent three’ of the LCD laser projection: let’s talk about the new portable models by Maxell, into which years of experience and research have gone
The new Maxell range of portable LCD projectors with laser light source is a ‘trio’ of models united by lightness and agility (essential to guarantee the portability of the luminaires) as well as by the technical expertise and experience acquired in the field by Maxell.
The brightness ranges from 3,500 lumens of the MP-JW3501 model to 4,000 lumens of the pair of models MP-JU4001 and MPJW-4001, while the rather high contrast ratio (2,000,000: 1) is common to all models. Let’s see them in more detail.
Let’s start with the MP-JW3501: it is a WXGA projector (1.280×800) that guarantees minimum dimensions and ease of installation, also thanks to the projection ratio that goes from 1.5 to 1.8, and to the possibility (common to all models) for installation in all positions, 360°. It is able to adapt to practically any context and to all the most popular professional applications, bringing added value a safe ease of use in a particularly light and compact design. These LCD laser models are designed, in fact, to be installed quickly and configured even faster, so that they can start operating within a few minutes.
We come to the MP-JW4001 model, which raises the bar regarding brightness (4,000 lumens), keeping the contrast ratio, WXGA resolution and projection ratio unchanged compared to the previous model. The goal is always to provide the user with a device that is easy to install and configure, and with high performance for different applications.
A further step forward is made by the third model of the series, MP-JU4001, always with 4,000 lumens and with a contrast ratio of 2,000,000: 1, but with higher resolution, WUXGA (1.920×1.200). All this, keeping the overall dimensions very low and the design slim. The projection ratio of this model ranges from 1.3 to 2.1, to offer high flexibility in any professional application.
As for connectivity, all models in this series offer two HDMI inputs (HDCP compliant) plus RCA and VGA. Also available is the RJ45 LAN connection and a USB port for wireless adapters or presentations without a PC, using the projector directly.
Since these are laser source projectors, the guaranteed life of the luminaires reaches 20,000 hours in normal use and 30,000 hours in Long Life mode. All this, with a weight ranging from 3.4 kg of the MP-JU4001 and MP-JW4001 models to 3.6 kg of the MP-JW3501 model.
