Sharp, as part of its business expansion strategy in Europe, expands the European marketing team with the arrival of Kai Thielen as Marketing Director.
Sharp, looking for a new strategic positioning in Europe with a focus on consumers, strengthens its organization chart and expands its marketing resources. The new position of Marketing Director Europe will be held by the 48-year-old Kai Thielen.
After the experience at Sony and Bauknecht/Whirlpool, in 2003 Thielen joined LG as Trade Marketing Manager. Since 2012, as Head of Integrated Marketing, Thielen has assumed overall responsibility for communicating the LG brand in Germany, and has played a key role in the successful relaunch and development of the marketing organization in the new Eschborn location. In his position as Marketing Director Europe, Kai Thielen will interface directly with Sascha Lange, Europe Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
“Sharp has a long history of inventiveness and innovation”, Thielen said after taking office. “Even today, Sharp can take advantage of its long experience in R&D and introduce it into revolutionary technologies such as 8K and AIoT. I can’t wait” – he said – “to be able to actively contribute to the progress of this strong brand in Europe and realize the vision of Sharp.”
For his part, Sascha Lange commented on the arrival of the new team member: “We are delighted that Sharp has attracted an experienced marketing professional like Kai Thielen. In conjunction with the development of the PR network throughout Europe, we give a clear signal: Sharp is back.”
