A new line of projectors, a range of displays for corporate applications and a second with touch functions: those have been Maxell‘s proposals at ISE. But behind these launches, what are the technological, strategy and development choices for the presence of the brand in Europe? We talked about it with Keisuke Fujimura, head of the B2B Business Unit
On the second day of ISE, after attending the press conference organized by Maxell at its booth, we had the pleasure of interviewing Keisuke Fujimura, Head of the B2B Business Unit, Digital Media Group. During our friendly interview, which we report below, rather than about products, the Japanese manager told us about the goals for the future, which market is currently most interesting for the update, and how Maxell intends to develop the new products . Together with Keisuke Fujimura, Elaine Casabuona, European B2B Marketing Mons., Sales Mons. Southern Europe, North Africa participated in the interview. Transversally with respect to the topics covered, Maxell’s desire to focus on quality emerged, focusing its attention on three markets: education, corporate and digital signage.
Connessioni – Why did you decide to present new projector models for the Corporate sector?
Keisiuke Fujimura – Our main business, approximately 60%, is currently in the Education market and only 30-40% in the Corporate sector. To date, we do not have products suitable for this sector, so we were only partially present, but with these innovations we will also be ready for these applications, which we consider very interesting for the company.
C – Maxell is historically connected to the world of projectors, why did you decide to present at ISE 2020 a two new series of professional displays?
KF – To be more present in the Corporate market, we have tried to offer not only projectors, but also in a broader sense what the sector requires today, namely interactive displays and screens for meeting rooms; our philosophy is to offer a “solution brand”, therefore we have proposed our version of these technologies to offer the customer a complete solution
C – How do you intend to promote these new products in the future?
Elaine Casabuona – The first promotion channel is through our distributors, we have a consolidated network in all European countries. To make our products known, we mainly use digital channels.
C – What do you think is the future of video projection?
KF – The market has already taken the path of laser projection, and we too have focused on this technology by developing a professional line; however our interest will not be directed only towards the laser because, especially the Corporate sector shows still shows an interest for simple, intermediate performances solutions, and for more affordable technologies. For this we have developed some models for this sector, completing the range with displays and interactive whiteboards. Furthermore, thanks to our long experience in the world of batteries, we have been able to present reliable and long-lasting portable projectors.
C – What answers do you expect from the market?
KF – We will continue to work on the development of laser solutions and we are confident that we can achieve excellent results in this area. However we believe that the market requires new technological solutions, therefore we are working on some novelties such as transparent displays, the “foils”. Maxell is known on the market for its quality, which will be our strategy for the future also for these new types of products.
