Korean-based firm shows up the biggest OLED videowall in the world in the Arabic town
The product is realized with the 55EF5C model, available even on the Italian market. Installed in the Dubai Mall, adjacent to the Burj Khalifa, this immense videowall has been created using 820 LG OLED digital signage panels Open Frame. For this project, to be included in the Guinness Book of Records. LG has partnered Emaar Entertainment, a brand operating at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo.
“LG is revolutionizing the way in which advertising spaces are used and designed because its OLED technology, thin and curved, is itself an icon of art”, declared Kwon Soon-hwang, Responsible for LG Home Entertainment Company’s Information Display Division. “Our exhibition in Dubai is an example of how LG’s digital signage products are capable of insert themselves with an elegant aesthetic in a commercial space, as well as being an innovative and functional solution for the B2B requests. We are proud that this revolutionary screen is being shown in the biggest mall worldwide, near the tallest building of the planet.
OLED is often defined as the next-generation display, thanks to the “emissive” technology of self-illuminating pixels that eliminates the need of a cumbersome and little effective backlight. This means to have very high-quality images, with perfect blacks, perfect colours and a wider angle of view in relation to conventional backlight displays. The use of LG’s OLED signage Open Frame in the Dubai Aquarium is particularly indicated thanks to the curved shape of the display that imitates the waves of the water. These solutions can be configured creating concave or convex curves, both horizontal and vertical oriented, to be inserted in every public or private space.
